No. Reserves can't pick up off the swap board. They can't pick up open time via white slip either. You can submit a yellow slip and volunteer to fly on your off days, however you don't get the days back & the time only goes toward your 70 hours. You can also submit a green slip. This way is better because you get the day off back, plus the pay is in addition to your 70 hours even if it is the only trip you fly all month.

thanks guys. appreciate your help. so the only real way to get over the 70 hours is to put in a green slip for day off flying in pcs?

For reserve folks like us, flying on an X-day is called a "yellow slip". Go into PCS, slip requests, then fly on X-days.

Now, you can try a YS which will allow scheduling to a award you a trip which causes your credit to exceed ALV + 15 hours, but that means you'll actually have to work trips which total 70+ hours of credit. This method will result in many more days worked. |

Me not so smart. As a line holder if I request a WS or GS with a minimum of say 12 hr report time, do I HAVE to take the trip? PWA references a "proffer", but I can't remember if a proffer is an offer you can take or leave or if it's someting you own once awarded.

yep. if you fly a greenslip, you are payed that amount over 70 hours and you get your day off back. For a regular pilot, a greenslip is worth double pay. |

A proffer is a yellow slip trip offered with less then 12 hours notice. |
