Interesting. Not as big as I thought it would be. No big movements at all.

Just positioning for the summer. 365 bid will be out in April/May and that one is rumored to be b-i-g.

75 new Captains positions on a small clean up bid is not bad at all. We used to consider a bid with 100 Captains positions huge. This will create quite a bit of movement. It also should put some of the DTW pilots at ease about the 330 time getting pulled out. Its not likely they would post a bid only to move the time 3 months later. If however I were SEA based I would be very worried.

nothing big in this ae....so a big curve ball they got delayed this? don't see much here at all

No 320 movements in this AE or DC-9 as was rumored earlier. I guess that'll be part of the "big one" this summer. Looks like some decent upward mobility for some, though, particularly in Detroit.

The 20 MD-88 surpluses in MSP might shake some things up a bit for some of the junior guys currently in training for their new ER/320 seats.

There are guys that bid MSP 88 when it first opened (Delta South guys looking to get into MSP & Delta North guys looking to get off the -9) that were then seat locked when all the MSP ER & 320 positions came available.

They will now be able to take a voluntary displacement into them being the bottom of the ER & 320 list's are so junior.

DeadHead 01-18-2011 11:36 AM

So they are shifting pilots to understaff the MD88 category so as to sync up the new hires into the MD88 as the new 90s start making it out to the line?

Or are they actually shrinking the 88 category system wide?

ITSALLGOOD 01-18-2011 11:37 AM

Don't really see a need for any displacements in ATL or NYC. The openings on more senior equipment there will almost certainly generate enough movement off the M88 to cover the surpluses. Openings in WB categories in DTW might generate enough movement from MSP to DTW to knockout displacements in MSP as well.
