The discontent over compensation and poor career advancement due to outsourcing is perfectly legit, IMO. I don't quite understand why you would think otherwise. But it doesn't have to translate into a lack of enjoyment of the job and time off. I know it certainly doesn't for me. And I'll bet you would lump me into your "people who think they are working in pure hell" category. Right?

I do understand the distinction and I am not happy with many things. There are however pilots on here who can't post a single good thing about working at Delta airlines.
Jobs have been lost to outsourcing but far more and better jobs were lost to work rule changes yet most seem to want to ignore that because they personally want to fly as much as possible.

How are you paid if you get a greenslip on reserve that is a carry over trip into a regular month? I'm trying to find it in the contract but am not having any luck. Just trying to get my "ducks in a row" if the chance comes up. Thanks

Denny

Off the top of my head, I honestly haven't noticed that. Most of the comments I've seen seem to be oriented around dissatisfaction with compensation and scope, not actually working at Delta Air Lines.

1) You would have to prove to me your assertion that "far more and better jobs were lost to work rule changes." I don't doubt that some jobs were lost due to that, but I think far more were lost to the RJ's than any other factor or combination of factors.

2) Have you considered that many of us don't necessarily want to fly as much as possible but need to fly as much as possible because our pay is otherwise too low and also because many of us are trying to rebuild our retirements after the loss of the pension?

The 90 had no trouble going east it was coming back that was the issue. PHL-SLC was about the limit on the 90 with an average headwind and an alternate. Did that flight a time or two with a fuel stop when we were doing it on the 90. Never saw an 88 on that route but imagine it could only do it with no alternate and little headwind.

The network guys said they wanted the 320 there because the 90 wasn't cutting it for flights from the east coast. I see the same logic with moving 320's to ATL and 88's to MSP. The 88's would be more versatile in MSP and 320's more versatile in ATL.

You'll get paid 1X above guarantee for the stuff flown in your reserve month and your PB days will go into your bank. The hours you fly in a regular month will be paid 2X pay with no days off back. You should see the credit hours for each month show up in the green slip hours spot on your time card, but can't really figure out exactly how it's paid until after your paid and see the pay statement.

If there is credit in the trip it will be applied by default in the month that the rotation ends.

Understanding there are surpluses on the M88 fleets in ATL,MSP,NYC, some of our most junior bases. Where can they be displaced to?

Just looked at the AE: Wow! I was expecting to see the MSP DC9 sent south. I guess the Governor issued a Stay of Execution at the last minute.

(Beer Mug in Hand, Skoal!) Here is a toast to my fellow Nordic 9 Bros. A few more months and another sweaty summer on the beast. I hope everybody gets what they want. Merry AE

For the most part they probably won't go anywhere.

Some of the ATL guys might get pushed out, they'll have no problem bidding up to DTW on anything ER and below.

The new positions in DTW & NYC will probably negate needing to displace any of the NYC guys.

In MSP there's a possibility some of them would have to go DTW 9 (they are pretty junior), but the new positions in DTW, SLC, LAX & SEA could easily absorb any need for displacements there as well.

Thanks Rocky. That's what I was hoping but couldn't find it any where in the contract. I'm on reserve for one day on Jan. 30th and am off Jan 31 thru 6 Feb on a regular line. I've already surpassed my reserve guarantee (vacation included) for the Jan bid period. Didn't know whether I should throw in a greenslip for Jan 30th or not. (For a less than 12 hour report)

So I got displaced a year ago to the 73N (started class in May), and it still has the "i would like to be reinstated to the 767B" box on my AE. Is that still valid? How long are my reinstatement rights even though there have been 2 other AEs?

Just pondering the options. :)
