For a regular pilot, a greenslip is worth double credit.

A green slip for a regular line holder is zero credit, double pay. The double credit greenslip went away in the early 80's.

Go to DeltaNet, Flight Operations, Crew Resources & Scheduling, and on the very bottom there is a PCS Guide.

Also review the Pilot Working Agreement (PWA) from the ALPA Website (Alpa > About ALPA), then go to the Delta MEC. Search under "Reserve" and most of your questions will be answered.

Whiteslips for the same day or less then 12 hours to report are a proffer.
Greenslips are not proffers and you are required to take the trip unless you can beg off it for things like child care ect... You can customize both a WS and GS to almost anything you want so really no need to call screen if you have structured the WS or GS properly.

A proffer is a yellow slip trip offered with less then 12 hours notice.
Ok, but there's no requirement for me to answer my phone or be available if I put in a WS or GS...right? As a commuter I'd need the time to get to base if a trip was awarded. I have to drop a trip next month due to MLOA so my credit will only be around 60hrs. As such I'd like to pick something up should it become available and I can make it to base. I guess I'll put in a WS and see what happens.

Thanks,

ranger

You NEVER have to answer your phone, as a line holder or reserve pilot. This past summer I had a blanket GS in & took only 1 GS trip because it was the only one I could make. They'll leave a message, give you about 10 minutes to accept, & then move on to the next guy.

If you say you need 12 hours to report for a WS or GS and they call you with either inside of 12 hours, it is a pro-offer. The WS or GS did not meet your criteria. If either meet your criteria then they are not a pro-offer. As Sailing said, you can set up a WS or GS to be very specific.

In regards to learning the scheduling system, take a look at the DALPA publication "When Scheduling Calls." It is on the DALPA website and can answer alot of questions.
