Have been at Delta over 22 yrs and have never felt compelled to abuse my sick leave. Completely disagree with that but do think our sick leave policy needs improved significantly.

Aren't those contradictory statements? You can't both "notice more guys flying sick" and also observe that "I bet sick leave usage has increased under this contract."

Not at all. It seems that more guys who are slightly sick will come to work, so as to not burn their sick leave, and will in turn infect the guys they fly with.

By the way, I think I have our IROPS issue solved. Especially when gates become an issue.

That's the chart I use for running the performance checklist. Just taxi up behind AirTran's gates and set the parking brake. :D

It looks like if you park on the souteast end of the C Concourse, ftb want's you to taxi OVER an Air Tran aircraft and set the parking brake. :D

And what could you do with all that time if you go thru your career fairly healthy?

It is true that if you didn't use it you would lose it but most thought of it as an insurance policy.

I guess we have some extra funds for section 6 but what happened to all the money we had deducted to cover merger fighting? Is there any left? Do we get some back? Does the money just roll into the section 6 funds? Inquiring minds want to know.

I think at some point we get the funds back but ALPA will have to deduct dues from it like income. :D

Its like TARP funds: The first part, they will just lose and noone will investigate. The second part will have a fast tracked depreciation schedule so if we dont get it paid back in 3 years, its absorbed anyway.:D

Which is EXACTLY what that guy still has with the combination of sick leave, TD, LTD, DPMA and Top up benefits. If a N guy came over with 2000 hours, and hasn't used any since the merger, and goes on disability today, he'll have about 2 years of full pay under the DAL PWA.... just like he would have at NWA.
