Quick question:

As a line holder, can I pick up an out of base trip using the swap board, or can I only do an OOB pick up through a white slip?

Thanks in advance.

There is/are also some notepads that were penned at the time of the merger that explain each section of the contract. I can get you to them if you cannot find them.
Thanks for the help, all! I did find my way to the Dalpa library, and downloaded all the TWG notepads, and the PWC--would have never found those without the point-out. Bunch of reading to do now, while I wait for the projected category list to come out.

Anyone got a guess as to when I'd get training if I tell them I'm available 2 Mar for 73N?

Are the DC-9's being parked any sooner than we were told back in 1999? I seem to remember a chart that showed the last one hitting the cycle limit in 2014.

Through a WS only I think. Try to pick it up off the Swap Board & see what happens. If it isn't allowed the computer won't let you do it.

The DC-9s were supposed to go to 2027, I have the chart. The -50s are nowhere near the 100,000 cycle limit. The problem is most guys are lazy and fly the jet too fast because there is no FMC controlling the autothrottles. This increases fuel burn. NWA should have re-engined the DC-9 (circa 2000) with the TAY or BMW engine, the payback timeframe was only 3 years, but thats too long a time frame for an airline to contemplate.

Question about Travelnet... If avail/auth is for example 3/5, but there are 5 HKs rev pax showing up in the airport standby list, is there still 3 open seats? I think the airport standby list says there are 10 coach avail, not sure how they make all the numbers add up.

Here's how I understand it. 3 seats are unbooked & 5 more can be booked allowing an overbooking of 2 pax....hence 3 avail/5 authorized. The 5 HK's are included in the booked number, they have just not been assigned a seat yet. That is why you see the 10 seats available on the airport standby list. There are most likely a few pax who have not checked in yet.

IMO the best picture in regards to getting on the flight is the airport standby list.

Not sure now if that's an accurate assessment of replacement for the DC9-50's. If I remember correctly, the plan for the DC9-50's was that they were supposed to be around at least another 5 years. We were already getting the MD-90's long before that. Plus, the MD-90 is a much larger aircraft (with way more seats) that mostly flies a different mission than the DC-9. I can't see Delta putting MD-90's on many of the current DC-9 routes. What I can see Delta doing (not because it's smart but because it seems to be the way our management thinks) is to put a little more frequency on DC-9 routes with the additional CRJ700's that our scope clause allows. This would likely result in yet even MORE outsourced Delta pilots jobs and backward movement (not to mention unhappy customers ).

So, while I appreciate your effort to answer my question, I'm still left wondering what aircraft Delta will replace the DC9-50's with, and who will be flying those aircraft?
