...or right after tsquare secures longevity pay for us.
What company culture? The same company culture that furloughed over 1000 Pilots while Comair and ASA where hiring by the hundreds? The same company culture where management took millions in retention bonuses and then left anyway? The same company culture that filed BK and then terminiated our pensions but made sure management pensions were BK proof? The same company culture where management pits employee groups against each other - especially us evil and greedy Pilots.
In my opinion the culture that I believe you are talking about has not existed for about two decades at least.
I am all for helping people because it is the right thing to do - but it has nothing to do with company culture. The only company culture that I see is that we (employees) are costs to be minimized. What did one of our fearless managers (we don't really have leaders) say - "I lost sleep worrying that we did not take enough from the Pilots in BK."
I am sure that I am coming off quite bitter, but I am not - its just the way it is, and you will realize it too eventually. When I was hired I was probably the biggest Kool-aide drinking "company man" that you could imagine. Straight out of the military with foolish notions of loyalty and devotion - I would walk through the 727 picking up trash on turns - more senior pilots would just look at me and shake their heads.
I still enjoy working at Delta and espesially enjoy the great Pilot group we have but I really disagree with you regarding the culture at Delta.
Lets see how good the "culture" is in about two years when we are in section 6.
Scoop - Rant over

Scoop;
I hear ya brutha. I enjoy the job while there, we've got the best pilot coworkers available, but I no longer drink the koolaid, it's a job. Cooperate and graduate. The cheese has been moved too far away and too often.
Heyas,
In the rumor mill today:
The company informed ALPA that they have no interest in 100 seaters.
Council 20 decided to publish flight pay loss information. No way around it at the MEC level.
That is all...

Delta's fleet strategy under scrutiny after RFP on narrowbodies | Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation - CAPA
Look at the list of manufacturers that received the RFP. Granted, I doubt we get anything from China or Russia, but they did write to Canada and Brazil. I'm not saying I'm ranking the RFP much higher than a rumor, but it certainly is an expression of interest in aircraft around the 100-145 seat range, at least in the case of Bombardier and Embraer.
Then again read the comment about "testing the waters".
Overall, I don't think it matters whether the company tells us they do or do not want 100-seaters: we just need to maintain or improve scope restrictions in case they do. Whatever they do, we'll read about it in the paper.
Interesting. I looked up articles on the RFP for up to 200 airframes:

Sure: makes sense. It comes down to this: we have no idea what they really will do, and we just need the contract to be set up for any and all eventualities. I'm tired of negotiators making decisions based on what the company "will do", instead of addressing all scenarios, from best to worst.
I just know that FTB's dog is this smart!

Now we all know that politicians need their feet held to the fire to ensure they actually do what they say, but this is a great written statement from T.T. We've still heard NOTHING yet from the F/O rep.
