There is no reality involved with one of your personal opinions.

It is my opinion that more pilots would place scope above pay if our union agreed with that. If ALPA did some "educating" on how much scope give-aways have hurt our profession, many pilots would be stunned.

Now the questions are: Why doesn't ALPA feel that way? Why is there no "education" about the need to stop outsourcing? Why does the new ALPA president not even list scope as a threat to our futures? Bueller....Bueller?

We can only hope. And we can only hope it isn't done prior to Section 6 with an LOA and no MEMRAT.

That is no hard fact...only your personal opinion. There is no prohibition of not following our will in the by-laws. But much more important is this: Who controls the data on what the pilot's opinions are?

This is a key point. When the "data" doesn't even remotely match up with what I observe day in and day out flying the line, I have to start wondering about the validity of said "data." This has been the case for several years... and one of the many reasons I do not trust ALPA.

 

Hard for the union to take a stand when they collect dues from both sides.

 

Unfortunately, its a little too late for Snickers.


Delta puts bulldogs on no-fly list

Delta notified customers in February that it was going to stop carrying American, English and French bulldogs and the decision was praised in a story in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Michael Markarian, chief operating officer of the U.S. Humane Society, called it a "sensible response" to problems among many many short-faced dogs and cats, including bulldogs, pugs and Persian cats. Such animals can have difficulty breathing, especially in cargo holds, he added.

"We're pleased that Delta is being attentive and responsive to the particular animal welfare concerns with bulldogs," he said. The breed is susceptible to respiratory problems.

According to U.S. Department of Transportation statistics, 122 dogs died on commercial airlines from May 2005 to May 2010. Of those, 25 were English Bulldogs and six were French bulldogs.

In hot weather, Delta also restricts a wide range of snub-nosed breeds ??? including pit bulls, pugs and Persian cats ??? from flying as checked baggage or cargo.

Other major carriers also have restrictions on carrying bulldogs and some other breeds, or simply do not carry pets in cargo holds at all, the story said.
