A little touchy aren't we Alpha? Please answer the question.

BTW, I can guarantee I'm never on here posting opinion while on pilot dues dollars flight pay loss. Can you? Or is yours part of an endorsed strategic plan? Would my reps know of such an effort, or is it part of the inner "Star Chamber"?

You evade the question of why for such an insignificant, non-representative cross section of the pilot group there seems to be so much emphasis and attention to so few here and on the web forums?
In my opinion, your question answers itself.

I'm with scambo. Confused. Was that last post meant to infer that somebody who works for ALPA spends their time on these boards bad-mouthing ALPA?
Most of you guys seem to know the identities of all the main players here. I don't know anybody's real identity. I feel left out.
I'm guessing Carl is not Lee Moak.

How do you post an attachment on here? I know it has been discussed but can someone help me out?

Thanks,

I still see people that thank me for my work during a very difficult time. That is what made all the hassle worthwhile.

I was wrong to personalize this. I shouldn't have said "you" I should have just left it to this webboard and the ALPA webboard as a group. The issues discussed here and the opinions that are the majority here do not match the majority of the pilot group. They don't match the majority of the pilots I fly with. They don't match the majority of the pilots that I talked to in the pilot lounge, at social meetings, flying the line, calling on the phone, and all the other ways I reached out to hear the views of my pilots. Surely you would concede that the number of pilots that post often on this board and the ALPA board are a small percentage of the total pilot group.

I think you are a smart guy and you should probably get involved in the union. Again, I apologize for making it personal with you. Sign up for some committee work and find out how the union works. You will find a bunch of guys just like you that are busting their humps to get more for the pilots. You will also find that if there were any easy answers, people would have just done it. The issues are much more complicated than they seem, kind of like how flying a jet is more complicated than pushing the autopilot button. Every organization needs new blood to keep the energy up.

Ok. Now I AM going to go cry in my beer. This is a very nice response and warm gesture from you. I am totally disarmed and very appreciative of the sincerity.

I'll be back later to finish my response....

Default Bod

I thought DALPA had a position on the BOD as a result of the bankruptcy.

So if that's true why can't the Delta pilots insist no new contracts and large planes to the regionals.

Please educate me. One day I'm hoping to be employed at the majors

The bottom 900 are hating life, being on the street and all (I would be one of them), but everyone else is loosing bidding power as they're relative seniority is eroded.

For the record - I got you're original point, but I'm not sure if you got mine. Maybe you were to busy correcting my grammar.
Ahhh OK.. so it's obstinance, not ignorance. For a minute or two I was concerned.

Video link to Captain Sullenberger on Real Time with Bill Maher on April 8. Great discussion of pay cuts, Colgan Air in Buffalo, etc.

I wonder if Sully is going to be vocal in the upcoming contract issues at the various carriers.

That is true, we do have one voting member on the board. He, however is only one of thirteen members. Any proposal like this would be vetoed by the other directors. They would see it as handcuffing managements ability to create the most profitable company possible. Remember, the board is responsible to shareholders, not the pilots or employees. It is a valuable position to have, but we do not have the ability to impose our will on the entire company trough the board member.
