Can't believe you pilots haven't read this yet:
12 airport employees charged in 2 drug smuggling rings | Detroit Free Press | freep.com

Feds arrest Delta baggage handlers in drug smuggling probe at Metro Airport | detnews.com | The Detroit News

FT thread:
12 DL Rampers arrested with cocaine - FlyerTalk Forums

HOLY SH**.

You pilots: Better check the damn cargo hold for illegal sh** when coming from Mortego bay!

Just say NO to pilot swaps across base lines....

That is all.

Call your reps. I did, and I am very disappointed.

  • RJET's branded flying is not going well. Frontier's E Jet deliveries are being delayed, yet it still siphoned off airplanes for this new flying.
  • ALPA's course of conduct has been absolutely clear:
- This was defined as non Delta flying in previous versions of DAL scope
- NWA's MEC also defined that the E170/175 was to be operated property via their contract negotiations
- The Delta MEC divested Compass, reiterating this was not "Delta" flying
- The Delta MEC Chairman conceded additional aircraft while making road show presentations which touted the benefits of outsourcing

Anyone who thinks ALPA is going to pursue a grievance, or even object, just has not been paying attention.

Yeah, I told you so. My prognostication that the narrow body RFP will be effected by Delta's CapEx constraints stands. Again, I reiterate our MEC needs scope that focuses on PILOTS not airplanes. We need to define Delta flying inclusively and broadly. We need "Delta" pilots regardless of who's leases the airplanes.

While not disagreeing with your submission,

-Previously announced DC-9s not retiring, but staying through 2012
-Additional 6 RJs
-SWA/AirTRan merger goes through without divesting any BWI or MCO

My guess is that we are about to get confirmation that the slot swap has gone through with LCC. Just a guess.

Yeah, I was very surprised to see that as well. I guess nobody can complain about us in Atlanta now.

Not so fast my friend. You may be right, but never underestimate the thuggishness of this government. I'll believe it when I am checking in at the new terminal. Heck, I'm surprised WE didn't have to divest ourselves of gates and slots in ATL, JFK, SLC, DTW, MSP, et al to facilitate SWA/AT.

IMO, they've "thugged" it out as much as they are going to be able. That's the reason you are seeing the "new" RJs. Just a guess.

That is my guess too. They are also short term six year CPA's. All of the ones that have been announced since the CPS divestiture has been six year terms. No longer are they 10-20 year terms. DAL is telling us exactly when this type of jet will be leaving the fleet, and 2021 or so is the latest any of these CPA's run. Looking at the layering of these contracts, you see them layering these RJ's leaving as a new jet would be arriving. Draw your own conclusions, and keep your demands firm on scope, but look at the corporate side too. Sunsetting them is easy with this evidence, and should cost very little.

Also reread Ronnie's comments, they speak the truth of a lot of this group, that the forum poster do not want to see.

I want to wager on how many slots LCC and DAL had to divest. I am guessing five in LGA and five in DCA. Anyone think that there are airplanes involved as well?

What the heck are these guys eating and drinking.

A recent visit to the DTW ALPA Council 20 office produced very interesting results. While the MEC failed to meet an eight week resolution mandate to produce all Flight Pay Loss reports for 2010 and 2011, it did make 2010 meeting expenses available for Delta Pilots to view. The MEC did not publish this report to its website, but harrassed its members in good standing by prohibiting photocopying or photographing the document. It forced members to hand transcribe the document if the member wished to export the information. When challenged by a DPA member for specific policy citation, ALPA leadership stated that no policy prohibitied the dissemination of the information, but that it was the preference of current ALPA leadership to restrict access and, therefore, limit transparency.

Read the DALPA Meeting Expense Report generated from two hours of hand transcribing to learn about the wasteful spending habits of the DALPA MEC. If $329.00 per night hotel rooms disturb you or 12 day meetings in beach destinations concern you, you are not alone. Over $1.6 MILLION in Delta Pilot dues was spent just in 2010 on meetings and associated comforts

Bar;

I'm gonna lock you, FTB and Check in $329/night hotel rooms for a week. I'm gonna serve you filets, cracked crab, twinkies and fat tire. Your budget for IT and audiovisual is $10k. Your job is to produce an entertaining video detailing the entire scope bubble for posting on the DALPA website, emailing to DALPA members and posting to youtube. The requirement is to keep the video factual without being boring. There will be no flight pay loss.

Force the issue on the Reps. Tell them to that you have an issue with it, and then tell them that you want results, whether they be personnel changes or otherwise.
