alparomeo,
I don't know if I'm an internet blowhard and I certainly don't know crap about much. But what I'm absolutely sure of is that I'm working much harder for much less money and much less time off than at any time in my 24 years at the big D.
Now I don't expect alpa to give away our negotiating secrets. However, RA & EB have mentioned at many of the investor calls this year that they don't expect any significant changes to payroll going forward. Surely alpa can state firmly and at every opportunity the exact amount of sacrifice the Delta pilots have made to keep this company alive, and further that we rightly expect very significant increases in all areas of our compensation in the near future.
Alpa has completely lost touch with the line pilot. It is for this and for too many other reasons to list, that I have sent in my DPA card.

I asked this question and was told to let them know if I don't want to receive my printed copy. That way they can make that copy available to college students or other prospective members. I figured they might gain some more regional airline members this way so I didn't do it.

Just curious. Was there a push for an independent union when DALALPA negotiated C2K and we didn't compare our rates to those of SWA???
long before anyone knew 737 pilots at low cost no frills no first class Southwest would be paid better than 777/747 pilots
on the line I hear a lot of "looking back now..." from guys who are still steaming about the 1996 contract and how they had these home shows in peachtree city warning about the dire consequences of not passing a contract that made millionaires out of the people warning about the dire consequences of not passing the contract.
Lots of venting. I just listen and poke for more.

This sorry economy can't handle $150 oil. Can't handle $110 right now. Once it hits that point supplies, unless tampered with or someone promotes a get rich unfounded scheme of peak oil, will increase and prices will fall.
