I know a guy whose logbook discrepancy was an order of magnitude larger than yours who thinks it might have contributed to his not getting hired. BoyFromSouth's is an order of magnitude smaller and didn't hurt him, apparently. I am sure a lot of it is how you deal with the question if it comes up.

Some things to check: Flight Engineer time is added to total pilot time by AirlineApps.com. I don't know of any airline that considers it so. Also, Delta includes a 0.2 additive per military sortie that isn't mentioned anywhere but does show up on your totals when you review your app for that particular airline. If either of those apply to you, it may be the root of your error.

Also, if you have PIC in an aircraft with more than two pilots, you may introduce a discrepancy there, as your PIC time while having signed for the jet but not in the seat is considered total pilot time by AirlineApps, but perhaps not by your branch of service.

In my case, I had two Navy logbooks that couldn't be easily reconciled, since there was about 180 hours of PIC (and thus total time) that wasn't counted as Navy pilot time due to a three-pilot aircraft. I also had a printout of flight time from my current Part 121 employer and a fourth hand-written logbook documenting my whopping 12 piston hours, including my ATP. Since this all got too complicated for me to keep straight and explain to myself, let alone a panel of interviewers, I had created a spreadsheet breaking everything down by aircraft class and type with subtotals, both with and without a military additive. Delta never asked me any questions either, but it might have been because there was no easy way to look at a single total in my logbooks and compare it to my app. Still, I had a spreadsheet ready that matched to the hour my application and logbooks to explain any perceived discrepancies.

I wouldn't put off any pressing interview prep to track down the error, but I know I felt good with the knowledge that all of my time was accounted for. If you can't crack the code and it comes up, admit you made a mistake and that you're embarrassed that you couldn't make it all work out to the hour, and it shouldn't hurt you, I'd guess. Try not to give the impression that you're saying, "Chill out, Dude. It's only 20 hours out of my 10,000. What's the big deal?"

Good luck!

Just got back home after my interview on the 9th. We had 5 of 8 get selected; 2 active USAF getting ready to retire, B-2 and U-2, 1 USAF prior active now Guard F-16, 1 RJ Captain and 1 cargo guy. 3 ASA guys didn't make it. We were told there will be one class in Nov and one in Dec and that they are still working to fill the Nov class.

Most importantly, the gouge is still good. I had seen most all of the questions before but a couple of the other guys said they hadn't. I guess the best is to study the gouge and the Mental Math book. The interview was as relaxed as an interview can be. The Cog test is a bear but I guess I made it through it okay. Check out www.Lumosity.com to practice for the Cog test.

Do watch your manners at all times while you're in Atlanta. One of the interview Capts was on the bus with me from the airport to the hotel and then I chatted with another Capt on the interview team at breakfast in the hotel. I stayed at the Comfort Inn and that worked out fine.

They really work hard to help you feel relaxed. Everyone I met was super nice.

76/75 or 7ER guys...
Anyone know if the LuggageWorks 107NG International 26" bag (vice the typical 22" bag) works in the 767 or 7ER? I pack like a chick and am attempting to squeeze my Steve Madden white loafers in the bag to match my Lagerfeld day suit and my Armani full-length Siberian otter pelt coat in my carry-on (for the cold Moscow February).
Thanks...

The 26" will work, but it causes problems if you commute. Look at the 105NG. It's a 22" bag, but has a suit compartment on the outside that adds more room.

If you need the computer compartment like the 107NG has, just buy the LW computer sleeve for $10 and put your laptop in the front compartment of the 105NG.

Try ebags.com. They give a crewmember discount. I have the 22 inch bag with a sleeve for a computer in the front. I paid $99 dollars for the bag and I think 10 for the sleeve. 5 yr warranty and really a great bag for the buck. Most things can be replaced and wheels are excellent. LW makes a good bag but way too expensive for what you get. I've been at Delta 9 1/2 yrs now and trust me save where you can you don't know what is around the next turn. Not negative just realistic. New hires look at expensive bags guys that have been here a while had rather spend money on more worthy causes like 529 plans or Roth IRA's. Buy your pants at JC penny or another store. More comfortable and washable.

Glad to see the senority list finally growing again.

Luggage works also makes a small round bag that can clip on to the 22'' above the kit bag hook. This can give the extra space needed for the international trip or the winter trip but easily unclip and make storage in the overhead easier.

Rumor Alert:

I just spoke with a mechanic and he said we bought 10 MD90s from China. He said the planes were actually in great shape. I will believe it when I see it; but he was convincing.

More rumors...
We were in our last day of indoc and the head shed came in and announced some big changes with LAX, CVG and JFK. Not sure if we're allowed to say anything but take a look at DeltaNet. I'm sure they're posted there. I JS'd home from ATL and the CAPT/FO had already heard about it.
