After ALV you will not be shown on the reserve list unless you have a YS in by reducing your RAW 15 pts.

I time out all of the time, and after I you get within two hrs of ALV you are done without a YS in. I will fly as close as I can to ALV+15 and then enjoy a week vacation at the end of each month. It works well, and hope it continues.
On the other hand, I haven't flown in a month.

Lucky you. I am up near ALV+15 already, but I prefer to work my tail off than sit on SC not getting credit for that time.

Once you have gotten to within 2 hours of the ALV you don't have to sit shortcall. Your done for the month if you choose.

Well that's interesting but if you think that applies to the course I took to learn the investment method I use, you are mistaken. Anyway, it doesn't matter to me. I was only trying to point out that successful investing does not necessarily require a lot of time and effort. I guess I was wasting my time contributing here in this particular discussion anyway. I mean why would anyone pay attention to an investment discussion among pilots when they could seek out advice from true experts... or just go to the library and check out a book?

Good luck.

True, and from what I have seen, if you have a yellow slip in (reduced RAW) they put you on the Reserve Availability List and previously have been assigned SC. If I choose not to sit SC, I remove my slip and then call them and tell them, that I want a trip, but opt not to sit the SC period. They remove it, and I put my reduced RAW YS back in.

I have noticed that once over ALV they are now removing you from the Reserve Availability List and effectively parking you as long as you do not have a YS in with a reduced RAW. You no longer have to call and asked to be showed "full" for the month.

That's how NWA's was before the merger. So I was quite shocked the first summer of our merged airlines when I saw non revs sitting in 1st class wearing tank tops, shorts, & cheap flip flops.

My, how classy that looked.

I still cannot bring myself to do that. I will wear jeans in coach when shucking the kids to and from the grandparents, but non-reving in first in a t-shirt and shorts is just too weird for me.
