Most 330As don't want to go to ATL for a 5-6 week school/sims for the ER. They may opt to go to 744A school since it might still be done in MSP before Natco is closed. Same goes for a lot of the 330Bs, but they may go to ATL for that long school if it gets them a left seat on a narrowbody. A 5-6 week school for the ER right seat just wouldn't be worth it for those senior folks. Some 330Bs may also just stay on the plane and commute to DTW for their one 12 day trip per month. Most up there in MSP want to avoid ATL at all costs. DTW 330 pilots often are commuters, and many live in FLA. They may bid ATL 330 if it is an easier or shorter commute. I bet it goes very senior, and DTW 330 goes more junior. Add to it the $20 per hour pay cut to go down to the 767ER, and most will follow the plane or go upwards to the 747.
I may change my mind if there is a second ATL AE for the 330, but I just don't see a way to avoid the crappy MED flying that originates out of ATL.

Does anyone know how to book positive space Deviating DH on the front of a rotation. I believe we can do that now but I-crew only has a place for the end of rotation DH.

Bid has only been out a few hours and already the number ahead of me for SEA 7ER has jumped 32 numbers! This is gonna be interesting. May just have to embrace a displacement!
Just remember the SEA weather sucks and the state has a real meth problem and and and....
Well you get my drift!

They pay more attention to it since there could possibly be a chance that you would be out of position due to circumstances beyond your control.
Depends on the scheduler, but most were willing to work something out. (Guess it just depends on the time of day/workload)
You either book it yourself as Company Business, or call the CPSC for them to do it, I can't remember which. If your front-end DH was business class, you can't book that yourself. You book it in coach, then call the CPSC and they'll upgrade it for you.

Bill;
Overall, I agree with your analysis - except one part. IMO, you overrate the narrowbody left seat. Many/most int'l widebody FOs have been able to hold capt for a while.
The pilots who jump to the left seat at first opportunity are doing (what I call) an ego bid. The pilots who fly int'l long haul by choice look at pay/days worked.
The best it ever got with me was 8 days/month for 81 hours...I rode that for 2+ years. Contrast that with 12-17 days per month for 73 hours as a narrowbody A and you can see the difference. In all honesty, the 8 day month has largely dried up, 9-12 is now the norm, but it is still better than 12-17.
I am interested in seeing how this bid plays out too. Not necessarily with great anticipation, but more from a social engineering perspective. The A330 going to ATL, although not unexpected, is going to be interesting to watch mostly because that will be the Malaria jet.
Is anyone beside me having trouble getting EZBid to submit their bids to the Navtech site? When EZBid takes me to the login page, and I enter my login info, it logs me out immediately. No trouble logging on to Navtech via my browser. Restarting EZBid doesn't help, either.
I have far too many bids to submit them the old school way...

I would be happy to be displaced to NYC. Been trying to get there for 2 bids now and being one of the most junior pilots at the company I am not able to hold NY. Started in MSP and was displaced to the 9 DTW on the last bid. With the 9 going away it would be silly for the company to displace anyone to this plane as they will just face another displacement on the next bid or 2. I'm happy to take the displacement if it puts me in NY next year. The few that got NYC 88b from my class were also displaced to both the 9 DTW and the 320 DTW so it looks like those that got 320 may be facing another displacement.
That's my two cents. Hope we do get displaced to NY, all I know is this too shall be interesting!
