Hey all.

Just breez'in through. If we want new boeings, we can get them-and quickly.

My bet is that we are seriously looking at 1, maybe 2 airlines that have 100 seaters already in service. One of them doesn't have enough of them, so a secondary transaction would have to accompany THAT transaction. The other would get us all the 100 seaters we need, in addition to a large addition to our airbus fleet AND a stranglehold on the NY market. The downside to the latter transaction is that I believe that nobody is really happy with that particular aircraft.

I wouldn't rule out singlehandedly saving the c-series either

It will all come down to the best deal, and whether other players force our hand, IMO.

It's clear to me that RA has decided that paying down debt really is his main goal. To that end, we will be flying really old airplanes for quite a long time. Our 777's and A330's are going to be the newest we see for a while. Hope the gamble works out for us, because this is now our course.

This is what Delta is telling their shareholders, you know the ones that own the company. Delta is generating excellent cash flow, in the last few years that cash flow has been used and will be used to:

Finance the merger integration >> Pay down the debt >> Finance fleet renewal

They are very open about this and have not wavered. We are halfway through the pay down debt cycle and will move to fleet renewal in a few years. Look at the last investors webcast slides and it says it right there. They have this RFP out for 100 orders + 100 options + more and it is actively being bid on by every manufacturer that can spell airplane. A bid that says deliveries will be in 10 years will not win.

Delta will continue to purchase used MD-90's as fast as they can find them, also not a surprise to anyone that pays any attention to what management says. This is really not rocket science here, you don't need to invent stuff to figure out what is going on. Delta has for the last 5 years been very open with the investment community and has been dogged about delivering on their promises.

The reason the union is educating pilots about financial information and negotiating procedures is because they want pilots to be able find this data and process it on their own. They should not have to rely on internet gossip and made up rumors based on data mined from press reports, that are often quite inaccurate. It seems the only people that are upset by this education campaign are the internet prognosticators.

Delta just put out another press release about our 2nd quarter results. You can find it here. Investor Relations - SEC Filings

Every Delta pilot now has the knowledge to read that press release and get a very good idea about the profit/loss for the 2nd quarter. I encourage pilots to read it from the source and don't rely on internet rumors for your data.

Alpha,

This humble prognosticator is pleased to read the Delta MEC's communications of late and think they do an excellent job. I also enjoy reading the "phantom speaks." Obviously this board takes things a bit further.

Thumbs up Delta expects quarterly profit

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Delta Air Lines said Monday it expects to have a "solidly profitable" second quarter as higher revenues have largely offset a jump in fuel prices. Passenger revenue per available seat mile is forecast to climb 10% in the current period, the Atlanta-based airline said. Fuel during the period was up by 91 cents from a year ago to $3.23 a gallon, though that's expected to decline in the third quarter to $3.03 a gallon. To tame its non-fuel costs and bring them down to 2010 levels, Delta said it plans to reduce its post-Labor Day seat capacity by 4% by retiring older aircraft it will no longer have to service and reduce its workforce. Delta expects to end the second quarter with $5.6 billion in unrestricted liquidity.

Bar, you forgot, despite the drama and baggage issues both Lindsay and the 88 had enhancements!

I had heard that you could fail the computer tests or the knowledge test and be re-invited, but not the personnel portion... still true?

Along those same lines, didn't the website used to say something about accepting but not reviewing applications? It now is saying we're looking for candidates.:

Delta - Pilots

Perhaps I'm reading too much into this.
