Not to be too gloomy, but I'll bet Delta's opener next spring will be a similarly huge slap in our faces. We'd better be ready for it.
"Delta refuses to pay it's female and minority pilots as much as SWA does for their male pilots doing the same work. We're just demanding equal pay for equal work." :D |

We need this billboard if their opener is a slap in the face:
"Delta refuses to pay it's female and minority pilots as much as SWA does for their male pilots doing the same work. We're just demanding equal pay for equal work." :D That's great! I pray our DALPA leadership will have manhood for this! As for me I think doubling our rates and 50 seat scope is a good start. Strike fund is ready! |

Yep. The 50 seater is uneconomical so the company wants to get rid of them. The company does not want to replace the 50 seaters with us. It wants to bring in regional jets bigger than the DC-9.Our scope battle at the regional level is not done. Our line in the sand is looked at by the company as a line in the sand. It needs to be a line in concrete.

Well, just received the latest "Air Line Pilot" magazine. It brags about how great ALPA did over the last decade.

Heyas Johnso,
A bunch of years ago, when we had 800 guys on furlough, I was sitting reserve, and got called out to do a DH & one leg back. Turned out to be a ferry flight. The guy I was flying with had a WAY low number for doing a reserve gig like this, so I asked him what was up. The short version is he lived by the airport, and he told me that scheduling were his buds and would call him for favors like this and he was happy to do them. I said "um, you know we got 800 guys on furlough, right?" He came right out and said "I don't care about any of that stuff". There will always be a percentage of guys like this. Nu |
In one of the latest emails from SD, he mentioned that the 737 fleet has a lot of credit in their rotations. He was mentioning it relation to a possible DTW 737 base. Can any of the 737 guys here talk about the credit they see in their rotations? Where does it seem to be coming from?
Seems strange there would be so much credit when we have lots of 737 bases - I can't see why there would be much deadheading or short days that generate lots of credit. |
