Hey Check, you were around for POS96 right? What law firm did PPA use? How'd that work out for everybody?

Worked out just fine for all those PPA Yellowbird guys who were pre-72.
The rest of us got shafted.

I certainly share your trepidation about the law firm in question.

Or we could move the DPA thread back to the major's section and just let er rip!

Carl

I think that's the best solution.
I hope the APC moderators and "powers that be" will see fit to do that.

They'll get more eyeballs and ad revenue if they keep the Latest and Greatest from turning into union mud wrestling. This thread is their bread and butter.

You guys/gals can't make one click over to the Union section to talk about Union stuff?

The issues, from a completely disinterested 3rd party (me), have nothing to do with major airlines specifically, and everything to do with Unions.

It really isn't Tony. The old DPA thread had a ton of discussion about how Delta pilots (a major airline) strategize about our upcoming Section 6 negotiations. What is a reasonable opener, what is not. The thread had over 5,000 posts about a lot of different things. Granted, one of the topics was whether Delta pilots (a major airline) shoud change their bargaining agent.

Before the DPA thread was moved to the thread graveyard, the last few posts were requests from long time ALPA supporters to bury the thread. One moderator did just that.

It makes sense to me that pilots from a major airline could have this discussed in the Major's thread.

Thanks for considering.

Carl

Pilots who wish to discuss Union issues can do so in the appropriate forum.

The problem with not moving stuff is that the Major forum becomes a huge dumping ground. 90% of the threads that I move are from the Major forum, probably because it's the first one that pops up.

There is a dedicated forum just for Union issues, not just at Delta (a major airline), but USAirways (also a major), Pinnacle (not so major), JetBlue, etc, etc, etc. They're all over there !!

I carved out as many of the "union" type comments in the past few pages, and sent them to a new thread in Unions. That's the place to discuss it.

That's because you are "a completely disinterested 3rd party"

If you were interested, you'd understand that this has very much to do with the pilots at Delta Air Lines...
It's not like the debate is about voting rules and NLRB rulings...

Perhaps a Delta subforum in the Majors section is in order?

Cheers
George

Since there is a UAL/CAL subforum, it's probably a good idea.

Well sometimes you simply can't fight City Hall. I thought this was one place where ALPA couldn't stop speech that it hated. I was wrong. Now we have moderators pulling individual posts and burying them to the thread graveyard.

If the APC moderators are doing this, I don't have any idea about when they're doing it with other issues. ALPA is very powerful in squelching speech. Only time will tell if it works for them yet again.

Bye guys. Over and out.

Carl

PS: This post originated on the Latest and Greatest thread. Don't know if the mods will move it too.

Typically brilliant HuffPo editing::rolleyes:

"Delta spokeswoman Chris Kelly Singley says a plane headed to Minneapolis and one headed to Atlanta made struck each other before takeoff Friday. Singley said there were no injuries."
