Heyas,

My bet on the AAI/SWA SLI: Passes both sides.

On the AAI side:
CAs get to keep their seats, and the top half of them get to keep their QoL if they stay in ATL.

Bottom FOs were facing a 10 year upgrade anyway, so now they get 747/777 FO Pay to assuage their grief.

Angry top of the FO list. They don't matter. Tyranny of the majority. They are left to suck it.

Passes 70/30.

On the SWA side:

CAs don't care. Nothing here affects them in the slightest. Company men. Young guys get a %12 kicker in seniority. A few angry ATL commuters, but not enough to bother with. Easy win.

Angry FOs get unfettered upgrades for 10 years. Get pay override whenever they fly with a junior Tranny captain. The only thing really hurt here is their pride that they didn't staple the Trannies, otherwise they get a big win.

Passes 85/15.

I think that's an excellent summation.

Only for another year or two......

I am confident that DAL/UCAL (FDX does already) exceeds them in the next contract cycle.

AT guys! Don't sell your seniority for a short-term pay gap!!!!!

Nu, your assessment overall is very well written.
(I'm just highlighting this part though)

No, that would most likely be a straight staple.

So what if the FAA demands unpaid taxes? I thought we were putting this in escrow until they get this FAA bill together?

Constitutionally, they can't. I'm sure they are trying though.

So if Nu is right on the 70/30 number at FL, that 70 pretty much would be all of the Captains and AirTran new hires. The 30 would be mostly FOs.

Without considering the mood of FL pilots I could see that happening just on the basis of what's being offered. But I think all pilots at FL need to ask, would they get a better deal in arbitration?

I say yes, better SLI and the same pay. This is a messy situation brewing either way bit stand for your own. For SWA pilots, yeah they make $50K more than us but you know they wish we were still C2K right now because they could demand a large raise, but given where they sit there probably isn't room for a raise that would be significant to offset what SWA see as unfair.

I'm surprised SWA doesn't placate it's pilots with $$ bonus to sign off on a less onerous SLI.

I don't think this passes. AirTran pilots IMHO will vote no.
