Just to add to the rumors. According to a Capt I flew with RA said in an LCA meeting that JB was a target. Even after the slot swap we are #2 in NYC and with slots given up by us and UCAL the feeling is the divestitures of slots would not ne great.

Also for the persistant USAir rules. The rumor is we have interest but only in the Philly operation. More about asset purchase the merger.

I also had an A/A 767 captain on my jumpseat, about two weeks ago. He indicated that they were being told that they WOULD have a contract T/A by Labor Day. He'd been w/ A/A since 1985, and was not, it struck me, a B/S type. That rumor is coming from too many places simultaneously, to be 'just a rumor'.

What does that mean? What law firm operates on generosity?

How much generosity are they showing TC and friends in their non-profit entity?

Jet Blue is probably a "target" but not for us. Someone over there deserves credit for making that outfit even survive, much less thrive. Who would have thought a low cost carrier could make it at high cost JFK with all the issues that facility has? Current market valuations of the legacy carriers make it "expensive" to go shopping right now. With the bufoonery in Washington and Lufthansia's not so good scope, it would not surprise me a lot to see Jet Blue gobbled up by a European carrier. With the onslaught coming to Europe from the Middle Eastern carriers and the relative health of the US domestic market, it would probably make sense for European carriers to try to lock in a feed and revenue stream.

I wonder if Delta could have saved a couple of billion building a new terminal if they had waited to make a hostile offer for American's terminal in bankruptcy. It would be just our luck to see that property on the Court House steps in May 2013.

Maybe American management will give their pilots a huge industry leading contract knowing its going to file bankruptcy and negate the contract anyhow. American management might be hoping Delta gets stuck with a large pilot contract and no way to negate it.

This scenario would be fine by me. It's been played out before.

So the Continental pilots fired Seham and joined ALPA, the APA pilots fired Seham and hired ALPA. Great endorsements.

Seham's failed the AMFA, Seham has failed USAPA (bottom of the industry) so obviously he's the choice for DPA, a lawyer who is on record stating that seniority is always subject to collective bargaining. No hidden agenda there.

I hear that Seham collects $57K/week from USAPA, I'm sure he's chomping on the bit to get significantly more from DPA.
