Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
Umm, what are the former FedEx and SWA consultants and retired labor negotiators telling the WSJ? Nothing like Terry. I know from experience, a few "placed" op-eds from management or publishers can signal future positions. I really hope this isn't DAL management trying to proactively head off our expectations.
"No buck, no Buck Rogers seems about right to me." There wouldn't be an NFL without football players, there wouldn't be an MLB without baseball players...imagine an airline without pilots?

More importantly: Imagine Delta without pilot givebacks. My personal contribution to Delta is in excess of $350,000 straight pay, not including retirement and work rules and other benefits.

Gus Grissom: The issue here is monkey.
John Glenn: What?
Gus Grissom: Us. We are the monkey.
Deke Slayton: What Gus is saying is that were missing the point.
What Gus is saying is that we all heard the rumors that they want
to send a monkey up first. Well, none of us wants to think that
theyre gonna send a monkey up to do a mans work. But what Gus is
saying is that what they're trying to do to us is send a man up to
do a monkeys work. Us, a bunch of college-trained chimpanzees!
Gus Grissom: Fu#€in A, bubba.
Deke Slayton: Alright, so what Gus is saying is that we've got to
change things around here. He's saying that we are pilots. And we
know more about what we need to fly this thing than anybody else.
So what we have to do is to alter the experiment. And what that
comes down to is who is gonna control this thing from here on out.
Gordon Cooper: What Gus is saying here is that weve got to stick
together on this deal.

IOW, they unionized.

First, it seems to me if DALPA wants to fight a Terry mindset all they need to do is ask "hey, do you like what we've got going here? You know, DAL+DALPA forever? Because they think we're in bed with you and they're trying to vote us out. So unless you want the DPA representing the pilots I hope you get your act together, shutup, and start capitulating."
I won't hold my breath.
Second, equal pay for equal work. There is no reason why Delta should be paying its female and minority pilots $50,000 sometimes $60,000 LESS than Southwest is paying their pilots to do the same job. Now Terry, have times changed? Absolutely. Nobody is willing these days watch a company, whether its based in the South or not, pay it's female and minority pilots HALF of what a smaller discount airline is more than willing to pay it's pilots FOR THE SAME JOB.
Shame.

Can someone tell me or direct me in the direction to; if I try and pick up a trip off the swap board do I have to put in a slip or can I just hit the P/U button? Also, since I'm on RES with those days off does that go towards my 70 hours or is it above guarantee?
Thanks,

That said, as a reserve you do not have the ability to pick up time off the swap board. You are limited to the various "slips."
