Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
Simple math says 3200 divided by 8 miles a minute gives it a 6+40 range to empty tanks. That sound pretty domestic plus canada, AK, HI, central Am to me.
As far as comfort goes, we fly pax to europe in the 757 already. I flew it once on a 757 and it was painful, very painful, but it did beat swimming there.

I admit, though, that I'm only on the Junior Varsity Delta Connection team, so what do I know?
Maybe they'll make the 739 2x3 seating!
Then it'll sit the same as the MD88. So it's just a long range MD88?! Just one costs $4M and one costs $80M but maybe $40M on discount or something.
Out of curiosity, as a wave of the future, if we configure our supposed 739s the same as say CAL or Alaska Delta Connection Airlines, then in first class we'll lose 6 seats and 10 seats respectively over say our 75Xs (the 752s with the seats).
The coach seating would be within a few seats of each other.
If you did the A321, which has two JS's I believe, is the same as the 739s.

I'm out to tweak everyone this morning.
Maybe to save money, they'll take some of the "features" out of the Maddog and put them in the 739. Things like the FMS, the VNAV - oh, and the brakes! Can't forget to move the brakes over.
Youre right, I'm just venting. I want us to provide a good product, don't see the 739 as worthy of $8B or even $4B of debt in that pursuit.
That one article did state we can complete this order by 2018, which means we'll either have 100ish extra NBs by then or we can start sending the 757s off while they still have a decent resale value.

NTSB to examine safety trends in public forums
Tower asked us to give way. We had to stop. And wait for the 737 to come out of the ramp to let them out.
As we sat there, waiting, our airplane almost exploded into a fireball.
There ya go NTSB, investigate the correlation between preferential treatment on taxiways and airplanes exploding into fireballs.
