Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
There are at least two Gojet pilots at Delta and neither one came from TWA or United or any other Major that furloughed. They were also both there at the very beginning of Gojet so don't let them tell you they are innocent.
They were offered a job with Blow Jets because they are a United Express Carrier. Skywest took a bunch of furloughed United pilots a few years back too. Part of the deal with them getting a bunch of RJ's was to offer the poor furloughed guys jobs. Sort of a flow back deal.

The A/C are coming from ASA (8) and SKyWest (4). They are DL owned planes originally operated by Comair, but moved to ASA/SkyWest during the DL and Comair bankruptcy and coincidentally coincided with the 1113c motion at Comair.
I'm sure DL will retain ownership of the planes just like the CPZ aircraft.

So yes, I agree, we should be allowed, if not required, to fly under our own colors. But let me reiterate, I want out and prefer to work at the mainline, and wish the outsourcing had never happened in the first place. But that was way before my time.
Funny you should say that. The DCI carrier at which I work (I don't want to reveal too much, but it's the one whose primary hub is SLC...) used to display the company name proudly on the nose, in like 18 inch letters or something. Now, at the direction of Delta, I believe, the company name has been reduced to a barely visible sticker with the airplane equivalent of 10pt. font. The company branded headrest covers and signage at the rear of the cabin had to go as well. And mentioning "DCI operated by" in the PAs. I guess if the "seamless experience" is what DAL wants, then whatever. They're paying for it. But say what you will about SkyWest (oops, did I say SkyWest?), but I have no problem stating who is operating the flight and taking responsibility for it. Granted, we fly CRJ-200s, which suck, but that notwithstanding, I believe we generally provide a good product.

It's a back door way of creating angst about outsourcing. It's absolutely seamless for most people BUT I'd like it to be obvious that you're getting on an outsourced flight. I mean we do this with Alaska, why not every Delta Connection carrier?
In fact, I'll keep scope where it is, believe it or not, if from now on the passengers know they boarded Skywest (just for instance), ASA, Comair, Mesaba and so on and that when they look on the ramp they see a plethora of hodge-podge paint schemes rolling around. Then see what happens.
I don't know if it'd work as well as I wish, but DAL locked itself into contracts with these DCI's and saying you want a 20% reduction in 70+ seaters may be a nonstarter until these contracts sunset. So we're stuck. But in the meantime if we demand paint and logo changes then you create pressure to end outsourcing. Or so I hope, less outsourcing means more hiring.

I didn't post this news about Delta choosing another DCI carrier to bash individuals... I did to show i am upset with the company's choice of airlines and unwillingness to care about the Delta Air Lines brand!
Employees care about having a job 20 years from now.
If executives were paid 80% of total compensation in stock that could only be cashed out 10-20 years after it was earned, then you would see decisions more in line with maintaining a positive brand image over the long term.
Guns, agree completely!! We care about our brand...but its hard when stuff like this goes down. And MGMT wonders why. They can call me, I'd be happy to clue them in.

Maybe it's just me, but this move by Delta mgmt almost seems like a calculated poke in the eye against their pilots and ALPA. Contracting with a company started expressly to circumvent an ALPA contract, whose formation resulted in ALPA pilots being furloughed, staffed by pseudo-scabs who gleefully took the job knowing full well they were climbing over the backs of TSA pilots...how can that be anything other than a message? The message is "we will outsource every single seat we think we can get away with, and you are powerless to do a thing about it." GJ can't be much cheaper than ASA/Skywest, not enough to justify another DCI. This was a shot across the bow of anyone thinking scope restoration in 2012.
