Why does everybody have such a woody for these EFBs? They are not for Jepps plates.. only for company pubs. BFD.

Delta Cargo breaks record in Asia
August 24, 2011

The Delta Cargo team in Asia broke the load record for the Boeing 757 last weekend by carrying more than 21,000 pounds of fresh tuna.

The flight from Koror, Palau to Tokyo-Narita had 87 boxes full of fresh tuna, said Francis Lui, managing director-Delta Cargo, China and Asia.

“This record cargo load was a great success for our team and provided important revenue to Delta’s bottom line,” Francis said. “I want to say thank you to both Sales and Operations for making this shipment possible. We take great pride in the cooperation of our Sales and Operations teams, their abilities to efficiently fill the belly of the plane and make the most out of the available capacity.”

Delta Cargo is becoming known for setting records on passenger aircraft. On Christmas Day 2006, the group carried its largest shipment to date - 56,000 lbs. of asparagus from Lima, Peru to Atlanta. In 2005, Delta Cargo carried 20,000 lbs. of U.S. currency for the U.S. Federal Reserve Bank. The shipment of $225 million had to be unloaded by hand out of LD8 containers.

They have a long way to go to beat Northwest Cargo's records. Ha Ha

Actually t, that's incorrect. It's been stated by Steve Dickson in a recent memo that they are actively testing tablets to provide manuals, jepp plates & charts, reroute messages, trip check in features, and a Delta Meteorology app to access realtime weather radar. They want it all.

For you silver lining folks, with the company buying more 737s, it'll be that much easier to demand SWA pay and work rules on an apples to apples basis. Relatively speaking of course.

Actually T, the EFBs have the Jepps on as well. No more airside kits, just an Ipad.

Agreed Nosmo, there's actually less room in the 73 cockpit with the airside bags then there used to be when we were packing our kits. That being said, I just vacuum seal myself and it seems to work out.

I know it is probably in this thread a thousand pages back so forgive me for asking....... When do the guys that signed up for the early retirement/buy out in July have to actually retire or can they just keep extending month to month?

Thanks

Yup, AA is doing a trial on the 777.
They are approved for iPad use below 10,000 ft using the Jepps app for primary chart reference...

Cheers

With the arrival of 737-900ER's that can hold the equivalent of a domestic 757; does this make anyone else think that the 7ER category will return to its more traditional role of international flying while the 73N category will take over a lot of that domestic flying that has annoyed the vast majority of ER pilots of late?
