Just remember. This is the same media that stated the East Coast was 'ROCKED' by a 5.8 earthquake. I mean all that carnage(no damage or deaths) was so tragic. Our countries media is pathetic.

Great point. And for someone to state with certainty that an aircraft delivered in 2018 will be capacity neutral...well I want their crystal ball! We can't even accurately forecast demand or total production costs (jet fuel prices) 7 months out, much less 7 years out.

Exactly! These planes will give us capacity flexibility.

So any intel on where these acft are going to base? There is already hints via FO updates of a 737 base in DTW, and MSP and DTW have lost the most NB flying with DC9's going away.

DTW 737 all infers CVG 737 closure, and whats the plan for MEM?

Of course who knows about JFK/LGA with the slot swap, although we don't know if thats going to be any mainline flying at all

My guess is a DTW 737 base very soon, a NYC 320 base(flying from MSP) & the MEM pilot base will close with that flying going to ATL. Just my guess.

Trying to think -- isn't the whole customs and immigration area below ground level at JFK? If all that fills up with water, yikes!
Underground fueling systems? Baggage areas? Electrical conduits? Other utilities?

It wouldn't take a ten foot wall of water to shut us down. A couple inches might do it.

Yeah, maybe, but storm surge is nothing to scoff at. Couple that with high tide, and it is a big deal. This storm has real potential to be baaaaaaad. Sunny here on the Space Coast though.

Hey!!! where's my margarita?

You forgot to mention where the DTW 737 flying will be taken from...

We are all feeling the pain tsquare. The last AE is sending me from 74% in category to 87% in category. Back to reserve........sigh.

That's true guys. The natural rotation of the hurricane plus the projected track have the water being pushed right at Manhattan, Long Island, LGA, EWR, JFK etc. It could get ugly.

I was just pointing out that you bothered to annotate that the MSP flying would be going to NYC, and that the MEM flying would be going to ATL, but failed to mention where that DTW gain in flying would be taken from. Just find it a bit one sided.

And yes we ALL feel the squeeze.

Flatten the payscales.

You know the flippant and easy answer is probably CVG. But I'm not so sure right now, I could see the 737 flying coming out of ATL and NYC especially with the increase in the 320 in ATL and the move of MEM 320 flying to NYC.

I don't see them closing CVG - yet. IF they close MEM and CVG at the same time, that will create a bunch of training events that they aren't really prepared for as this past year has demonstrated. This is just my opinion of course, YMMV.
