Apparently the 1st iteration of the bid resulted in over 1500 training events, Crew Planning is going to have to change lots of awards.....probably no displacements off the 747-400 and 777.

We're in for a nasty ride. All the more reason we need ultra strong scope on our end and a management team that can compete and win on the other end, rather than trying to perpetually outsource its own core product. This economy will be a huge game of musical chairs for our industry; there won't be room for everyone when the music stops, let alone all the fantasy orders, options and MOU's for next gen airline "growth plans". It is a zero sum game and there will be losers. Big time. We need to figure out how to win rather than just merge-downsize-outsource.

I sure as heck put in for it. :) And yeah if it costed that many training events, they are going to have to do some tweaking and like such as. (this is oddly deja vu-ish)

True, but not only will they squeal too big to fail, they will claim they are too culturally critical to fail. If you disagree, you are anti-education. They will even work in allegations of anti-immigration/xenophobia and of course the race card if you dare cut their prescious funding. Heck, even if you try and cut the rate of increase to their subsidies they will squeal like Ned Beatty, purdy mouth and all.

Even the so called super committee can't agree on cutting one year's worth of deficit in a decade, let alone a single dollar in debt. What frosts me the most about it all is that a stinking frenchman (Alexis de Tocqueville) called it in the 1800's and many of our best and brightest today still can't see it.

Yuck. Someone posted a few hundred pages back that one man's garbage is another's gold. I'm pretty sure you're local ATL. Can you fill me in as to why you would want to sit reserve in NYC as a commuter on purpose? Seriously. I'm wondering if I missed something. I did not put an MD in for 7ER in NYC after hearing all the bashing of the 3 airport coverage, etc.

Now if we had C2K payrates on the 88, then we might be talking . . . :D

I wish you all the luck in the world. I'd love to backfill your short-bus seat in ATL.

Just kidding... the pay difference is worth it in my opinion. I really hope I don't get bounced off the bus, though.
