I think it was a rap version of "get off my lawn". Fortunately it ended up on the cutting room floor.
Slow,

While there is certainly room for improvement in our medical plans, you hit the nail on the head regarding some of those pontificating on here.

Quote: But it's clear that a lot of people posting on this topic have no clue how the plan they're complaining about works.
Quote: I have the HRA plan.

Razor mentioned 10% above $4500 for HSA. Or which one has the $4500 cap? Because I thought that was the HSA plan capped above $4500? Because if it's no longer a cap then the pro of that plan is gone.

FYI, I reread the DAL benefits package. For Diamond HSA, you pay an annual deductible of $4,500 (plus monthly fee) then 10% until you reach a total of $1,500 annual coinsurance maximum. This equates to a rough total out of pocket of $6,000.
We're in the Diamond HSA plan and have been o.k. with it. I just max out the HSA contribution and then don't have to worry about under/over as with a FSA. That being said, these plans are not what they used to be, but I suspect it's a societal/political/lobbying problem that may be bigger than what our efforts can solve. We may have to make hard choices on what form our upcoming increase in compensation takes; I myself am primed to vote no unless I'm impressed with what DALPA puts in front of me, but have not made up my mind yet what role improvements in medical plays in that.

I know how the plan works, still out 2800 for tubes and still had a better plan at a regional, so don't act like its a great deal

I never said it was a great deal for you. I said it was a good deal for me. However, if you paid 2800 last year for tubes you paid $500 more than you needed to under Delta's offerings, and if that child had any additional medical expenses you could add those into the difference. If you'd had them done this year you would have paid $2350 with a max of $450 left out of pocket for that one child before everything for the remainder of the year was free. You could have covered that deductible/out of pocket with HSA money that would have given you a significant tax break, making your actual out of pocket much less. Or not. I liked the days of free medical care too. That was a great deal.

Now as far as "acting", this medium is devoid of certain tones. I believe mine throughout this exchange on HSA's (which others have tried to morph) has been measured, but it's apparent I was not successful. I hope this response clears that up.
Quote: No, I resolved the matter myself. It was within my self insured retention.
While you may have resolved your matter for you there has been no identification if it's a systemic problem. If it's not identified, it can't be fixed. I ask all to ensure the benefits specialist is kept in the loop on any substantive problems that you encounter. Huge disparities where in-network rates are far greater than out of network reasonable and customary is one that needs attention, obviously. I'm sure there are others.

Please let KBF know of your issue.

Thanks, I will put that on my "to do" list.

Wait!? Are you saying Slow is right and that the moderators on this forum track our IP addresses and you know who the "anonymous" users are? After all that underboob-pg-13-family-webpage crap a few weeks ago, you are now saying that we can't post photos and you have a database of anonymous users organized by pro-DPA/pro-ALPA? I assume Internet Brands doesn't know you're using IPs for personal use?
No, Slow does not have our IP addresses.

Part of the TOS is that we do not register additional screen names. They probably keep track by IP address. Just about all sites log IP addresses and that helps them target advertising sales. That's what pays for the sand box we enjoy.

I doubt Internet Brands even knows what ALPA or DPA is. They do everything from Corvette forums to DIY.com (a fav of mine) to Nolo.com

BTW, you can change your IP address and route sessions through an offshore address. If it is a big deal to you, here's a tool: http://www.hide-my-ip.com/
