Just spitballing here.
WRT the first paragraph, the purpose (or at least, the result) of this would be to incentivize the company to offer commuteable trips. As some of us agreed earlier, trying to design only commuteable trips, which isn't everyone's cup of tea. You might argue that I could fly one of the more rewarding non-commuteable trips, but I might argue they wouldn't make them.

End result: trying to pull the blanket too far one way. Fails.

WRT the second paragraph, it would be sufficient to have a certain ratio of credit time to TAFB, which I think our trip rig already does. I guess we would both be happy if that was improved?

Their production backlog is just 29 airplanes. Compared to CRJ sales during the same period the Q has not been popular with Bombardier's customers. PCL says the Q400 contract is the worst financial performer in their portfolio.

It's my opinion that we need additional scope language covering aircraft in this class with "nextgen" powerplants.
Flew the Q400 for ~2400 hours for QX. They had more experience with the airframe than any airline in the world and excellent in-house MX, and I think the very best dispatch reliability they ever saw was around 98%, and some months far worse. That said, if Bombardier ever does a rework that takes care of the Q400's reliability problems, it's a potential threat. It'll take 76 pax + bags without being very load-limited, trues out at 370 knots, and is relatively quiet for a turboprop. I thought it was more comfortable from a passenger standpoint than Horizon's CRJ700s.

It's my opinion that scope clauses from here on out should not differentiate between powerplant types. Jets and turboprops are starting to get hard to tell apart as the props gain blades and the fans get geared down with variable pitch.

I'm just thinking out loud here, but if two 4-day trips, which have identical show times, are worth the same in terms of pay credit, it doesn't seem right that one of those two rotations block in 12-13 hours before the other. I think compensated the longer trip accordingly will help alleviate some of theses issues.

ATR and Bombardier are both investigating 100 seat turboprops. I think Airbus was trying to get Embraer and ATR to combine on one.

Just...not...comfortable...here. I'll try.

My gift to the greater peace of ATL are all the things that fascinate Southwest and Delta pilots. If they just play this over the terminal monitors, we will all go happily about our business.
