So then what? Mgmt. bonuses? More large rjs?
11.8B as of last qtr. Down from 13.2 a year earlier. I can't swear to it, but I believe that we are way ahead of schedule. They are on a schedule, but I think they are throwing as much as they can when they can at it. I don't know when they anticipate going below 10, but I'll wager it will happen this year sometime.. 1st qtr of '14 at the latest. Just my opinion though...
Probably.. So what? If that bothers you so much, you should have gone into management. I don't care if Mr Anderson gets a big bonus as long as he earns it.. I don't think they can order any more RJs either.. And since less debt means lower interest payments... maybe there will be an order for more mainline jets. Since the economy will start turning in another year or so, our timing might be excellent.
You're wasting your breathe T. (Or computer typing skills.) Nobody at SWA will ever admit to the fact they needed the resources of Air Tran to grow internationally, and spread their already increasing costs around the network.
If anyone in the Kool-Aid club would ever admit it, they'd then hopefully feel a little embarrassment, or at least feel the need to apologize to the Air Tran guys for how they "bent em over" in the SLI.

We had an AT CA in our JS last week. The funny thing (not so much from his perspective) is that SWA's baggage tracking software can't track bags internationally....so, AT will be doing all of the international flying for the foreseeable future. Hilarious! Instead of just adapting to AT's IT, SWA is launching a whole new study to figure out how to do it.

It's not just Mr. Anderson who runs this company. If we make a mistake and lose an airplane, it can easily wipe out around half a decade of gains for an airline. We have more at stake everyday in the cockpit than what Anderson has on his desk.

Yeah, he's a 73 CA in ATL now but is being bumped to the 717 in TPA. He was definitely not a happy camper. I asked him about the high percentage of AT guys that voted for it and his response was something along the lines of "when there's a gun to your head, you tell them what they want to hear."
Yeah... Anderson can have his multi-million dollar bonus. But as much as he wants his bonus, I want out of my bankruptcy contract. Re-instate my pay + inflation first, if we have so much of money to throw around for management bonuses.

"Where we belong?" is this our divine mandate? Give me a break.
What exactly do you base this on? What signs or signals indicate to you any potential to obtain the contract we demand? Because, minus that contract, Delta will never be "on top" with an underpaid, overworked, outsourced, and p!ssed off pilot group.
And keep in mind that DALPA's Stockholm syndrome-driven agenda is generally not a successful negotiating strategy.
Are you in management?
