Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
I'd like to avoid the APA path.
They tried to justify their huge "ask" using a number of analogies; former pay rates adjusted for inflation, management compensation, former sacrifices. None of it matters. Get over it.
We all need to live in the here and now. What you guys made in 2004 does not matter to the NMB. That's a brick wall that you cannot get by. If you think that you are going to get a 43% pay raise, you are going to wait, and wait, and wait, and bypass thousands of dollars of income.
I'm suggesting that all of us need to analyze any deal that comes our way, evaluate it based on today's industry, and make a rational decision. That's all. If we get more than SWA on an hourly basis and I don't have to kill myself flying that type of SWA schedule out of SLC for the next 10 years, I'll vote yes (on the pay part). Scope needs to be evaluated independently.
That's what I want.

Your post makes way too much sense for what people are willing to admit to, or realize as a fact of the matter, on this forum.
Before you know it, Carl (a.k.a. Grand Poobah of the Krispy Kreme Fan Club) is going to pounce all over your logic with his grandiose experience & knowledge of how everyone else is wrong, & he's right.
Good luck,

You have no credibility, SWA pay rates mean nothing without the SWA contract.
[Baraque O., is that you speaking to the SCOTUS?)
Go back to your cubicle.

Actually, historically, chicks dig the fluff driver. We keep it up longer than the 88/90 and baby bus guys. Thus, the awesome pay.....oh, wait....nevermind.
Padre, do you work for DAL? If you are a pilot, what is your base and equipment?

The incompetence displayed by comparing our situation to that of the APA is, frankly, not surprising. But it is disheartening nevertheless.
Interesting how padre, a management stooge, and GearJerk, an ALPA flunky, are working hand-in-glove to further lowball our expectations. Par for that DALPA course.

Only there, is there a minuscule chance of your outlandish ideas!
Remember Bacon Bits, ~~~~~ we're watching you.~~~~
GO KENTUCKY WILDCATS !!!
That is all...
Back to the regularly scheduled DALPA vs. DPA crap.

Kentucky looked really good vs. Louisville, but I was impressed with how Kansas came from behind to beat Ohio State. I was in New Orleans for a layover during the Final Four, and the Kentucky players were staying in the Astor, our layover hotel. Every wall was lined with fans waiting to cheer their boys on. Go BLUE! (oh yeah, they're both blue...)

Absolutely. No argument from me there. Because Delta is making a profit, the Delta pilots will get a better contract.
But reality still needs to be faced.
This forum and the DALPA forum have had free rein for the last couple of years creating "facts". Now that DALPA has introduced information that is not congruent with those facts, it has created distrust. I'm sure this is part of the reason for people to turn to alternative forms of representation because the "facts" from that group back up the emotions that have been displayed here for so long. it makes them feel comfortable.
As humans, we make decisions based on a combination of emotions and facts. When the two are so different as they are now (think Roger and 88), it creates uncertainty and fear.
Right now, the perceptions of many do not match what is being presented as facts. It's really hard on some people and they are scared and angry.
