Interesting how padre, a management stooge, and GearJerk, an ALPA flunky, are working hand-in-glove to further lowball our expectations. Par for that DALPA course.
Only in your Black Helicopter, Conspiracy Theorized Mind, good sir.

Kentucky looked really good vs. Louisville, but I was impressed with how Kansas came from behind to beat Ohio State. I was in New Orleans for a layover during the Final Four, and the Kentucky players were staying in the Astor, our layover hotel. Every wall was lined with fans waiting to cheer their boys on. Go BLUE! (oh yeah, they're both blue...)

Absolutely. No argument from me there. Because Delta is making a profit, the Delta pilots will get a better contract.

But reality still needs to be faced.

This forum and the DALPA forum have had free rein for the last couple of years creating "facts". Now that DALPA has introduced information that is not congruent with those facts, it has created distrust. I'm sure this is part of the reason for people to turn to alternative forms of representation because the "facts" from that group back up the emotions that have been displayed here for so long. it makes them feel comfortable.

As humans, we make decisions based on a combination of emotions and facts. When the two are so different as they are now (think Roger and 88), it creates uncertainty and fear.

Right now, the perceptions of many do not match what is being presented as facts. It's really hard on some people and they are scared and angry.

Pinnacle's bankruptcy, which was obviously coordinated with Delta management, appears intended to release nearly the exact number of CRJ900's management was looking for to renegotiate other DCI contracts. These usually go 2 to 1. So, the 16 CRj900 from ATL will likely go to ExpressJet... and like that the "opportunity" touted by ALPA may have just been significantly diminished. Not sure a scope sale is needed (or has great value) any more.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

Isn't that about right Carl? No other organization other than your Krispy Kreme Fan Club can save the day for the Delta pilots?

Translation: Vote for us, or suffer the ill-effects of the declination of our career/profession at the hands of Delta Mgmt. & D-ALPA.
Yikes. That's your idea of clarifying?

Insults, name calling and unintelligible comments.

Whatever.

So which regional will declare bankruptcy next? There's speculation on the DALPA forum. Is their business model sustainable at these oil prices?

Kentucky will win tonight but it won't matter....it will be vacated when the NCAA finds Calipari again guilty of violations. Just like they did with his UMass and UMemphis final four teams. He's a shyster. Great recruiter but doesn't do it within the rules.

Why do you take what Roger said as facts?

Why are we discussing SWA payrates without their workrules? You cant have one without the other.

Short of SWA payrates and workrules, we are left to compare W-2s (Which are significantly farther apart than 11%).

You are relying on only 1/2 of the story to push some agenda and you are really NOT preaching to the choir.

If you can guarantee me: 3 GSWC's/month, we no longer codeshare with Alaska, we have IRONCLAD Int'l production balances, and all new 70+ seat aircraft flying DAL pax are flown by DAL seniority list pilots, I might go for 11% plus a 28% company 401k contribution.

No, that's you using the term...even when it doesn't fit the discussion. I assume you took the job at Delta because it bettered your life and future. And unless Delta was your first job, you left a previous job to join us...you big quitter you!

That's exactly the point...there is very little confidence in DALPA. That happened for a reason. Were there a confidence vote taken on DALPA, I firmly believe DALPA would lose, and lose big.

Indeed I did. Many pilots have given up on DALPA and they don't want to hear anything from them anymore. I wish that wasn't the case, but it is. Now you seem to think that you will use your extreme "cleverness" to call that being a "quitter" in some vain attempt to make people embarrassed about their completely justified opinion of DALPA. It won't work. But I suggest you hone your skills by trying to call up the people swindled by Bernie Madoff and call them "quitters" for having lost confidence in Bernie.
