Interesting statistic, we've shrunk half of a "Northwest" since the merger:

I'm sure someone will come along and say it was only 46% and some percentage were RJ's, but "half" is easier to remember.

Another way to look at it was that Delta "grew" 31% on merging with Northwest. But when the merger happened NWA was 80% of Delta's size, measured by departures.

The question will be as maintenance and fuel costs send 50 seaters to the desert, "who will perform this flying" ?

The airplane was sent to a remote corner of the runway, huh? Must have been one helluva long and wide runway.

We really need a APCF shared toy box.
FWIW, those fine folks have also ressurected the smaller Great Lakes biplane.

The one I saw at SnF was in Auburn colors.

Cheap financing is available to Domestic carriers:

Continental Airlines has issued an enhanced equipment trust certificate (EETC) worth $892 million, with Class A and Class B notes offered separately. The Class A notes have a 4.15% coupon while the Class B notes carry a 6.25% coupon. This is the lowest ever coupon achieved in a EETC financing for both the Class A and Class B tranches.

Cnbc just announced that our board approved a $100-125 million bid for the refinery. More news to be announced later in the week.

At the risk of not knowing the whole story... sounds like a bit of an overreaction. I've seen every manner of electronic device plugged in everywhere. If the phone had been found not plugged in, would it have been less menacing? Well, maybe there's more to the story...

And if the outlets in the lavs--which are there for pax use-- are going to lead to diversions, shouldn't we just uninstall them?
