I'm surprised there's no thread on this...saw on the news there was a DL 757-200 JFK-LAX that lost the #2 engine after ingesting birds. My kudos to the crew for handling the situation professionally. The news has been playing the ATC recording and crediting the crew for remaining calm (as is apparent by the radio calls.) We all know it's of the job but it's a good reminder to the public that sometimes when 'it hits the fan, the talent in the front office step up and make flying 170+ people on 1 engine look easy.

Been trying to find a way to put up a "LCC/AMR" picture, and struggling with technical issues. I finally think I have it:

How's this, for a metaphor?

I think the intentions of your post were to be in jest, but guarantee you, having 2000+ hours of RPA (remotely piloted aircraft) experience myself, an "operator" is subjected to the same anxiety of an emergency, as if he/she was sitting in the aircraft. Adrenaline still flows with an engine failure, fire, loss of directional control, etc. when you're aware of people being killed by falling debris, and/or you and your crew facing the same accident investigation board that any other military pilot would face.
