That guy in the article was all over the place. First he asserts that the Ex-Im bank only gives loans to companies that have no access to credit but then claims Delta pays higher interest because they have a poor credit rating. Do these other carriers have high credit ratings or do they not have access to credit, you have to pick one or the other.
Second, he claims that there is no subsidy in the Ex-Im bank. Then he claims if we end the Ex-Im then carriers will all go to Airbus because they have subsidies. Which is it, are there subsidies or not?
This was probably written by a Boeing PR guy and handed off to Forbes along with a large advertisement buy.

You're right Alfa, he is the CIO of Lexington Institute, which in his bio next to the article admits that it is funded by "large defense contractors", - ie. Boeing.
I think he could use a few more comments on his "article", dontcha think?

Yeah right! I'm sure they would treat their employees exactly the same if there was not the "threat of a union."
Not to mention its very easy to compete against mature companies with employees on 12th year pay with their employees all starting on year 1 pay. Oh and no heavy maintenance on new jets does not hurt either. Jet Blue does seem to provide a very good product, but not because they don't have unions. Lets see what their second decade looks like.
A buddy of mine who is a very senior Captain there, says the 5 year contract is a total non-issue because they know the very first time they don't renew a contract there will be an union drive. He even says there are guys who should have been fired who have not been, because the company does not want to start a union drive.

Wow, a scheduled MD88 ATL-MCO turn on Wednesday? No deadheads? Crazy stuff.
I swear there are so many 757s flying out of MCO it's insane we don't have a pilot hub there. I mean you have 32 757s flights to and from ATL, 8 757s to and from MSP, 12 757s to and from DTW and 2 757s each to and from LAX and SLC.
That's 56 flights that either land or leave MCO every day, why can't it be a MCO pilot hub?
It's a maintenance hub and a flight attendant hub, but not pilots? How many 757 pilots have to be put up a night there? Well, this I know, every pilot on an overnight there has to be provided a hotel.

Trying to move up

I had a layover in MCO last trip and also marveled at the size of the MCO operation. It sure would make sense to open up a base there... and boy would it go senior!
HIT IT WEEZY!
80kts:

And FTB could move up and still bid reserve.
Please go back up and click on the Jeffersons youtube video before proceeding:
Tsquare would bust a move.

Bar would move up in seniority, may even go back to the 767...

And who can forget Carl Spackler? Just all the happiness in ATL may make him dance like he did that time with a young Courtney Cox!

Without the music, it ain't the same and they dance the whole song. It's great.

I think the company learned their lesson about 'small bases', back when the Express Pilots figured out how to play the "With Conflict Only" game, and they were making as much, or more, than Mainline 737 Pilots!
You're going to ruin my fun...
BTW, it seems like a lot of flights. Doesn't seem like any smaller a base than MEM... wait. CVG. wait. DC9 ATL!
Besides, it's PBS now, we can't play games anymore. Or we get spanked.

one more.
