IOW more scheduling sophistry. They can do what they want and as long as you're not in a large, well staffed base, they will find a way to make it legal.

Well, if we didn't give them that flexibility I think they'd be pretty handcuffed. If they're coming off the weekend and the most junior guys are in the 1 day bucket while the more senior are in the 4 day bucket, it makes no sense to have to assign the SC's to the 1 day guys. It's a good fix to the current contract as it gives people the ability to exercise their seniority. If you were junior before you were pretty much hosed anyways, especially in a small category. But before there was no structure to SC assignment, & this way there actually is.

DTW as a 73 base could happen at some point within the next 2 years. DL has way too many 73 bases for the size of the fleet as it is to justify opening up another one anywhere. But I think as the 100 additional 737's come on line DTW will see a 73 base as well as either a 717 base or a rebuilding of the 320 base that was canibalized to fund shifting the Roosevelt hotel bill from the company to the pilots.

MEC Vote

Anyone know when the MEC will actually vote on this TA?

They have 7 days once the language is in their hands. I'm not sure if that happened yesterday.

I wonder if we could ever see a MD88 LAX and DTW base?

The MadDog could be a bit wasteful out of LAX as it has a good range to to hit both coast from MSP. On the other hand, LAX could use all the 717 we could find?;)

Dot connectors?

SWA is delaying 737deliveries. Thoughts? Is it really capacity management or are 717's still in the fleet plan longer than expected? Meh...probably nothing.

Yes, they have the language, but can reduce the timeline if the extra time will not effect the vote.

All I know is they got the language, not what is in it. They are going over it line by line, interspersed with Regular Business. Its closed, and so are the lips of the Reps. Don't ask em what they cannot share. Don't waste their time, they need it to debate each other.

My assmption is the leaks are not from the MEC.

Back to condo shopping. :D
