SWA is delaying 737deliveries. Thoughts? Is it really capacity management or are 717's still in the fleet plan longer than expected? Meh...probably nothing.

I think their costs are going up & their profits are going down.

So far i've been satisfied with my reps on answering my questions and all regarding this contract. Both reps in my council respond my emails within 12 hours, and seems like they are not just trying to BS their ways, or trying to spin things off their way.

With that said, we still have a lot of work, and I'm anxious to see the language for myself.

Same range. :D ;)

I can't believe American and Allegiant get away with flying MD-80s into LAX. You guys ever heard of the South Coast Air Quality Management District? It's amazing we're even allowed to have an airport in California.

I wonder if they are contemplating a shopping trip. Meh...probably just an effort to correct stock dilution.

It could be that the 717 deal fell through, or it could be that SWA wants to delay the capex. Keep in mind that a lot of their new 737's were ordered to replace not only the 717 eventually but also older 737's which they have the flexibility to keep around a bit longer if they want. So it could mean either or both.

Or they are delaying 737-7's for a possible 738 order. Many possibilities.

IDK. I guess the delivery delay could be related to the B717 deal falling through, but I think it could be a lot of other things. Maybe they're delaying those slots and taking DALs? Maybe they need to reduce their capacity?

What if American gets broken up and has planes to sell?

Oil has dropped $13/barrel in the last two weeks. If this keeps up, it'll be a big 2nd qtr profit.
