Look up my original post. Did I ever state that the majority of pilots had on-line degrees? You have missed the boat if that is what you think my position was.....maybe that's why you started with the insult, "Your logic it flawed again.... the majority of pilots don’t have online degrees."

You must have misinterpreted my original post
No, what you stated was that if Delta liked them so much, they wouldn’t hire anyone else.

The way I did it is the best and only way. Everyone should do as I did.

That's the general theme with airline pilots.

Obviously there are reasons not to take that job but saying it won't help you at all is completely incorrect.

Same goes with a master's. It is possible to get an online master's that may interest you and devote time to the charity on your choice. If you have the time and you're thinking of doing it, do it. Even if you have to take a short break from your charity. Having a master's and volunteering at a charity is better than having one or the other.
Disagreements are allowed. To each there own. I choose to prioritize family and my passions. You can make your own priorities. It seems to have worked out for both of us. Cheers!

Good input from everyone. It’s a tricky thing to navigate. Many of us were coming out with new wings and a license to learn at the tail end of the crash and the paths to a major weren’t as clear cut as they are now for a freshly minted CFI.

I say go for it then. If an opportunity presents itself a second time there is probably something leading you to it. Keep pressing ahead you sound like a solid guy. You’ll get your shot somewhere. May not be DAL but it will be the right place.

Not what I said at all. It’s tiring trying to help people here. Do whatever you want to get hired people.

This encapsulates 95 percent of “advice” and “reason” from airline pilots. Somehow they are the genius that figured out this path yet also suffered more than everyone regardless .

Start your grad degree, position yourself as best you can with flight time/management positions, bravo for putting QOL and family first. Plan for your future inside aviation and out. Delta will ramp up hiring again as all the majors will as well (given no Black Swan events). My experience with newhires, everyone has an opportunity. Best of luck.

Speaking of Black Swan events...news says we are/were pretty close to one happening the other day...do not want to deploy for Mideast adventure part 3.
