I was in that group of 2 time NWA furloughee's. Our 1st furlough was in Mar 2003. I got my 1st recall notice in Dec 2004, and was furloughed again in Jan 2006. Last recall was almost exactly one year later.

What's the story with the 171 Delta bypassers? Are they mostly pre-9/11 hires?

They are pre-9/11 hires that were furloughed for several years.* In the interim they got some kind of other job that was too good to leave when they got recalled. Now they are faced with the decision to either leave the new job or come back to Delta.

*a couple are guys that were hired well before 9/11 who took voluntary furloughs for whatever reason.

There are 203 total. All were hired pre-9/11. There was no hiring from 9/11-2007. No 2007 and beyond hires got furloughed.

So with the latest SEA info, how is it looking as a pilot base? Will it be senior or junior or a mix? How long will it take to be based there?

As long as the over 60 Pre NWA guys hang around up there. I've been wanting the West Coast for three years now.

Newest rumor, with more furlough pilots retuning than expected no off the street hiring for another year and a half. Has anybody else heard this.
