I'll take that bet.

Especially since Delta's minimums are very, very low. Up until the FAR change it was commercial multi and I think 1200 TT. Not sure if its been updated to ATP or not but I seriously doubt in a year DL will be hurting for 1500 TT pilots.

Don't pay any attention to Mesabah. They didn't go anywhere near all the list. There was some that got the call outside of the SSP and are doing the normal 2 day interview.

There are certain things that have changed at the interview. If you have old gouge, keep on studying that information but the questions on the aviation knowledge test have expanded. The HR interview is slightly different because of the types of questions being asked. The people who have been successful so far have been studying for a long time and are prepared for the HR interview.

Are offers of employment given out that quickly? (i.e. immediately after your interview?) I assumed one would fly home, then wait nervously by the phone for several days/weeks for "the call".

You get a conditional offer on day 1. You still have to pass the medical test and pscyh evaluation on day 2.

If you pass the first day you are given a "conditional letter of employment" pending your background check and psychological testing/interview. You usually find out your class date a month later.

The medical test has been eliminated from the interview process.

I knew one very good pilot who passed the first day Delta interview on day 1, conditionally hired pending day 2, and yet on day 2 somehow "failed" the psychological testing/review. I have no idea how that happens or what they are looking for, but from having flown with this guy he was a good pilot.

Yeah, its weird. When I was hired in 2001, there was a guy who really did well throughout the process which then included a medical. The psychologist bounced him. I have no clue why. My experience was great. No challenging questions. I really don't know what they're looking for in that regard. I know it sounds trite but just go in and be yourself. Delta is just looking for good guys. You don't want to kill your mom.

I snuck down to Virginia Ave and snapped a picture of the first guy offered the job walking out:
