2 out of 5 SSP acceptance rate is pretty low.[/QUOTE]

Seems like two too many for me. I'll admit I don't know the two hired so maybe that was too harsh however I know a lot of solid MIL and Regional guys with absolutely zero blemishes on their records that have been passed on to give these people a guaranteed shot. I am sure that there are some great folks at Pinnacle/endeavor but I have personally met many that would never, and I mean never ever, have received an interview without this deal. In addition, the elimination of the four year degree requirement for SSPs is total BS. The only people that think this is a good idea are those that couldn't/wouldn't/didn't think they needed to get one. Qualifications are the key to ensuring any career has good pay and benefits. The only people that benefit when qualifications are lowered are those without them.

From my experience, (having worked at a regional), the top of any regional seniority list is overwhelmingly made up of guys that either couldn't/wouldn't leave. Personally , I don't think we need either of those here at DAL. Especially when we have 7000 ish apps on file.

I may have missed something, but since when is DL first year pay 30 grand?

Whatever, the less that come over, the better for the guys that really deserve it.

So, did Delta officially wave the college-degree requirement for a select group of applicants?

He's talking about the Mesaba flow and in the timeframe he applies it sounds like NWA in those days. I don't know if their pay was 30k first year but even so at least NWA does its own flying and Mesaba was just a contract carrier. Looking long term, a career at a major/legacy is always worth it over a career at a regional.

Yes, it sounds like they waved it goodbye and waived the college degree for certain SSP applicants.

Ah I see what you're saying now. Yes, their first year pay was quite low- 25 an hour IIRC.

YES.... under the Endeavor (formerly known as pinnacle) SSP, Delta waived the college degree.... total BS, many guys have worked their behinds off to get that "requirement" so they could be competitive with Delta (yours truly) , but now for some reason a select few are exempt from this requirement...

Can you PM me specific names? They are breaking the letter of the bridge agreement by doing so.

That's what I meant. Anyhoo, did DALPA expend negotiating capital on this? I understand that Pinnacle/Endeavor went through bankruptcy and this preferential hiring is a bone for them. Fine. But why waive a basic requirement?

Is this SSP over and above the preferential hiring of all DCI pilots?
