Buzz,

1) Think your books are great!,

2) Always appreciate your posts when you talk about how hot your wife is, and how cold the beer flows in her hometown,

3) Don't agree with your taste of NFL teams, (Who doesn't enjoy watching the Vikes and their "one-dimensional" offense?)

4) BUT, I think your post above was a little harsh.

I've read the last few pages and it seems as though people are pouncing on XJCREW1's choice to remain at Mesaba.........errr.........Endeavor.

I assume he's been at Mesaba/Pinnacle/Endeavor long enough to have flow the Avro jet, when NWA still flew those beauties around the sky. (I flew the older variant [BAe-146] at Air Wis.) That being said, he's super senior, has nights, weekends, holidays off. Lives where he wants, works when he wants, and doesn't see any reason to change any of that up at this time.

You and I have both served in the military, and defended each person's inalienable right to freedom of speech. No offense, as I thank you for your service, but think that if XJCREW1 wants to post on the "Delta Hiring News" thread, defending his opinions, or other's, that we should at least here/read what he has to say, without asking him "why are you on our Delta thread?"

Safe flight,

V/R,

GJ

Fair question. From where I sit I observe folks, on here, taking pot shots at my fellow crew members. Too often the assumption is made that my fellow pilots are young, backpack wearing kids who want their "entitled" flow-thru number. That couldn't be further from the truth. These are guys who've been here a long time. Have kids of their own, from grade school to college. I've worked with them for years, attended each others kid's sports games, etc. They are hard working people that have become a great extended family. I feel the need to voice against those who falsely accuse my family.

I wouldn't have made the flow after being here for 14 years. It went senior. I do have a vested interest in my fellow pilots who utilize the Flow and SSP. They are family and I hope to see them succeed in their "endeavors".

Gearjerk, thank you. I didn't get to fly the Avro. Wish I could of done some of that Aspen flying. I was mostly on the mighty SAAB, before flying CRJ's. She was a great plane to fly.

That's an honest example. How many XJers have passed on Delta because of kids in K-2 grade. XJ was one of the most senior airlines because many pilots there were happy local to MSP and had no intention of moving to anywhere else. Now these will be interviewing at Delta.

It has nothing do with being childish, it has to do with hiring pilots who actually want to be at Delta as opposed to those who are going because their current career regional carrier is going bust. Don't you think HR would rather hire pilots who have had a track history of applying to Delta and actually want to work their as their goal?
