It has nothing do with being childish, it has to do with hiring pilots who actually want to be at Delta as opposed to those who are going because their current career regional carrier is going bust. Don't you think HR would rather hire pilots who have had a track history of applying to Delta and actually want to work their as their goal?
What a self serving post.
You've also got a track history of undercutting us in the marketplace...for your own advancement. Don't you think HR would rather hire pilots that have had a track history of brand service and loyalty?

Shy is to every APC thread, like a turd is to a swimming pool... Everyone is content, happy, ehhh maybe a few friendly splashes but for the most part, normal fun pool time activities......until he pops up...

What track history of undercutting you? It seems HR will now hire based on history of concessions for interview deals. It is now (apparently) a bargaining chip in negotiations.

My question for those who've see a hiring cycle or two; will Delta officially announce, say, an increase to 700 pilots, or just quietly add to the class size?

Right after the "300 hires" announcement a few people posted some back of the napkin math showing why Retirements + New Planes + Work Rules + Training Inefficiencies - Boneyard Planes = more than 300.

Usually they just keep the classes going for longer rather than shutting down training over the summer. Increasing the number per month drives hiring more instructors and maybe even having to obtain more sims. Cheaper just to keep a steady supply going.
