Absolutely. Most DL pilots are non military. However with the flow and pref interview numbers from certain regionals, completely off the street all civilian pilots are facing more competiton for fewer openings than before. Keep in mind that CPZ flows are limited to 130ish a year and Mesaba flows are almost over forever. If the hiring forcast holds up anywhere close to what we're hearing, there will be plenty of off the street civilian opportunities. Be patient, update regularly and triple check your app.

Similar to Mike I fixed it and sent a response w/in 24 hours saying thanks and that I'd fixed it. Didn't get a response but got the interview invite 2 weeks later.

It just looks that way. Academy types just have a way of finding each other. There are only about two dozen of them and they probably buddy bid too.

I guess this will continue until the mil pool dries up. But that will take some time. Delta is intentional when hiring.... This I've noticed. Such as my interview, 50/50, 4 mil, 4 civ..... And talking with others, that seems the norm.

I meant most hired. I think the company update said 60% civilian 40% military. I'd think the mil numbers will only decrease with time as well due to dwindling supply.

Mike, to answer your question Delta is WAY BEHIND the power curve when it comes to hiring. Two weeks ago I had a client who interviewed, was offered a CJO, and now is in a late August class. I had a couple of SSP clients interview yesterday (7 out of 8 hired yesterday, all SSP candidates) and their class date is in the fall. They are being held back because of staffing needs at Endeavor.

I've been working at a Major for about a year, but I would still like to make the switch to Delta. I've had my app in for over a year and I've continued to update. At first, I thought my experience from another 121 carrier would help, but since I still haven't been called, I'm starting to wonder. Is there any chance that currently being at another major airline hurts my chances of getting an interview? Opinions?
