I've been working at a Major for about a year, but I would still like to make the switch to Delta. I've had my app in for over a year and I've continued to update. At first, I thought my experience from another 121 carrier would help, but since I still haven't been called, I'm starting to wonder. Is there any chance that currently being at another major airline hurts my chances of getting an interview? Opinions?

It happened PLENTY before 9/11. Pilot leaves Legacy A for Legacy B, etc.
It's like wen you're dating a smoking hot chick, for some reason the other smoking hot chicks notice you. Not dating a smoking hot chick? Seems harder.

Don't get your hopes up about that....dudes are leaving as fast as they can, even full-timers in the the ANG/AFR.
But don't worry about things you can't control. If you meet the mins and your resume is competitive, you'll get the call. Just DO NOT go into the interview with all the mil dudes thinking you're somehow competing with them. Interviewees are not competing. You bring unique skills to the table and show that with your winning personality!
I've flown with all shapes and sizes at DAL and they're all top notch. I, however, always spin back to 210 from 211, no matter who's flying!

One year in and you want to start over? I have so many questions haha. If its United, hang in there. You've got a great group and fairly good work rules, and your pay is only slightly lower but should achieve parity soon. If its USAir, hang in there. Youre about to be a part of the biggest airline with such a bright future that the management guys are coming into indoc classes telling us the main concern as far as competition within the US is the new American, and they will likely be the industry leader in 5-10 years. Delta and AA will likely be on par, and United will get there eventually.
If its location you're after, then disregard everything and keep pursuing Delta. Our shining star here is Mr. Richard Anderson. What a phenomenal visionary. When he leaves, whoever replaces him will have very big shoes to fill. Keep that in mind as your airline is certainly pursuing a similar leader. Good luck!

Honestly, I've had a great experience with my current employer. Nothing bad to say at all. I just have some personal and professional reasons that I feel that Delta is the best fit for me; not the least of which is the fact that I live in Atlanta!
