I was hired about two years ago as I stated earlier in this thread with zero internal recs. Our internal process requires the DL pilot to send an email recommending the DL prospective pilot.

Airlineapps recommendations from a pilot with an @delta.com E-mail address are not "internal" recs. As to your question about retired pilots doing an internal, my guess is that 98% of the time that is not allowed as an internal requires you to email selection from your @delta.com email. If a retired pilot has some connections in selection I am sure they might be able to help the applicant.

Best of luck!

I just got the CJO in March. I had a total of three internals, with two being just standard airlineapps recs by Delta pilots and the third being the HR email to have my app scored.

I also attended two job fairs. It was about one to two months from the internal HR email until the invite (assuming that is, in fact, what pushed me over the edge to get the interview).

One other thing, I made sure to go through my app line-by-line (and I had my wife go through it as well) before having my friend at Delta send the email to HR. I thought I had it pretty squared away but still found some minor mistakes. I didn't get a "fix-it" email, just the invite. I think it's definitely worthwhile to check it thoroughly and hopefully skip the "fix-it" email.

Good luck and I hope that helps.

very helpful information! I have some retired recommendations as well as two internal that just sent the e-mail in to have me scored. How long ago was the 1-2 months?

How far away was your availability date when you got the interview invite?

availability date was 2 weeks....I've got to admit, I was surprised when she told me first available was 6 weeks (was expecting 4 weeks like most trip reports); of course just glad to get the email and nail down a date.

Like I said, more time to study, move my schedule around...

No need to wait on your prep if you believe your stats are competitive and you have the internal rec. Emerald coast webinars and RST!

Good luck!

6 weeks it's the perfect time to study all you have to. 4 weeks it's a bit tight, unless you have vacations and have the time to get ready.

Good luck! the hardest part is to get the interview and pass it. Once you're in, everything is easy.

Sorry I tried to search first but couldn't come up with good search words.

How long in average are you expected to wait for a class date after receiving a CJO?

I recently saw 9 Mar CJOs being offered 15 May class dates.

Good luck!

It's sitting at about 60 days right now. It's been as long as 6 months in the recent past. Ymmv. There are Facebook groups with RST that do a pretty decent job of keeping up with it for planning purposes.
