Delta uses a conversion factor to be able to compare military time and civilian time. Remember that civ time is from first brake release to final shutdown. Mil time is what, takeoff to touchdown?

It is takeoff to touch down...but typically you add 5 mins to the total.....though, still under cuts what civilian time logs......

Not many in 13-2014, but they will be in most classes in 2014.... I would guess 70-90 pilots of the total hired will be off the street (out of 300-400 total in 2013-2014).

It says "400 will flow over the next few years" ..... and that's good news for street hires being selected for interviews.

Good luck to all!

Question regarding the returning furlough bypass pilots: Could they show up to class, and then clock right back out?

The numbers still don't add up... 130 returnees, 115 CP Flows then some Mesaba flows and Pinnacle SSP. That 300 will get met quick...

You lost me here. They can re-furlough themselves?

What if they have decent paying jobs (SWA, Jblu, corporate)? Can they reset the furlough clock?

No, no they can't. I guess I didn't fully quantify my statement. A furlough bypass can come back and then go back out, but only for military leave. Or maternity leave. Or medical leave. Otherwise, they have to decide whether or not they think Delta will be better in the long run vis SWA, JBLU, or a corporate gig.
