You are correct and he is a big buddy of Moak. He was at National with Moak for a while now he is a rep, good thing is he is non voting.

Before the merger when he was a rep he would post stories of his and LMs deer hunting trips.

Yep. Those were epic stories. He is very smart and I personally find him funny. Sometimes, however he doesn't know when to keep his mouth shut and it gets him in trouble. IE: the uniform incident. Probably cost him 2000+ #'s in the sli. While I don't agree with his stance on a lot of things, he has done a lot for the pilot group over the years.

Since you all seem to have success in getting an interview and hired, can you tell me what I'm missing to get an interview? Do you recommend going to the job fairs? I have 6300 total time and 5000 pic. I only applied in Nov, does that hurt me? I have 4 internal LOR's.

Education? I dropped my app in Dec and got hired in Feb. I have a Masters, that's the only thing I can think of that makes the difference. Some of my buds are hypothesising that they are looking at Master's Degrees and recency of education as a discriminator since we all basically look the same on paper. Job fairs can't hurt, but I never went. Soon enough, all the majors will be hungry for qualified pilots, so keep the faith and good luck!

I've never heard of anyone being fired for missing a commute. In fact the only people I've heard of that have been fired are guys who get felonies, and the NW guys who were on their laptops.

Basically at Delta when you do something that you find yourself wondering if it is OK, call the CP and let them know. You won't have a problem here if you are honest and let people know what is going on.

So what is the commuting policy at Delta?

Thanks!

That brings up an interesting question about the flows.

Does all of the 60 or 90 day holdback period where the pilot stays at CPZ count as served probation, or do they still owe DL a full year?

Job fairs help in many ways. Being a recent applicant may or may not hurt, but it definately helps to have an app in for a while with regular updates.

Some people throw in an app, get called right away, get hired and never look back. They are very rare sitiuations.

Go to job fairs, network, update regularly and network.

And also network.

Probation starts at DOH, which for hold backs is still during their time at compass.

Got the master's container checked... I wish that was the silver bullet.

I don't think one single thing makes a difference by itself.

You have to have a primary and backup flight that shows availability 24 hours prior. Availability can be a booked Jumpseat. Flights must be two hours apart. If you are bumped from the JS by the FAA or company you will be given PS in the back. The above is contractual.
