Lodging update for anyone bringing a car to training (and interested in using Hilton points)... Booked 10 nights (going home between two 5-day training blocks) at a Hampton Inn halfway between KATL and Peachtree City for 80,000 Hilton points (8,000 points/night). 11 miles from the airport, so not ideal, but definitely doable considering the Hilton properties in/around Virginia Ave. were going for 20,000+ points (or $100+) per night.

Thus far, it looks like the best rate on Virginia Ave. is Holiday Inn at $65/night.

old question asked again. If you wanted to get to ATL as a new hire as quickly as possible, which aircraft would you pick? I'll be choosing close to last so I may not have many options, but if I do I'd like to choose wisely?

While just about any aircraft offered will get you to ATL, I would go with the 717 or M88. Sure, the ER has had openings, but your category seniority will improve faster on a NB and that is what drives QOL. Good dilemma to have! Welcome Aboard!
