6 months, I think I can handle. 8 months....well, at least I wouldn't feel guilty about getting another job and then having to walk away when indoc finally starts.
Well the mid May CJO recipients were told to expect indoc in July. November is full and they still haven't finished calling the May 6th and 7th interview groups. So unless December's class is very large and not the 40 for that has been averaging we will probably not class up with until January. That would make it between 7 & 8 months in the pool.

Unfortunately I wasn't exaggerating about the wait but I was poking fun at the reasons given for why the wait has grown.

I'll offer up a PBR to anyone who defers with a CJO date earlier than May 13th

Well in fairness to Sailing , his post started out along an informative path until he decided to go passive aggressive on us not passing the TA.

Guys - TA aside the current plan is for about 900 DAL new hires next year. This can and probably will change, but don't sweat the TA impacting hiring as this is still being played out and nobody knows how it will affect us.

Anyone have an idea how long it usually takes once you do get the call to get an interview? Interview to class date?

I was reading some previous posts and it looked like it was 6 month interview to class date. Does that seem correct?

It's important for new hires to not buy into sailing fun's company line.

He is well-known on the Latest & Greatest and TA threads for his asinine analysis and flat-wrong "facts." Do NOT use him as a reliable source of information about the contract or the failed TA.

Funny how you and others made all the same statements about contract 2012 and pilot hiring. How did that turn out?
Sailing

After the TA and before MEMRAT O.C. announced hiring would slow to 50 a month. Oops. The concessions were so severe it cut hiring in half. Since we rejected the severe concessions, hiring is back to the high levels. Unless you know more than O.C.

You said the 190 were bought and paid for no matter what! I think you said they were coming period! What happened?
Did you attend a road show or call crew planning on the hiring? Post what they tell you here.

Sadly it was put out at the roadshows that hiring has been reduced for next year from 900 to 600 to 700. Unless a 777 announcement is made the hiring rate for the year will be 50 to 60 a month. More will be hired in the Winter and Spring per month with fewer in the summer. That may help lift some of you out of the pool this winter.
