Does anyone know what happens if you do not get the 100 hours consolidation of knowledge of a new type rating in the 120 days then another 30 days extension.
I have read the regs and it says an extension of 30 days can be granted to not more than 150 days. I am already into the extension and have only 9 days left to complete the 100 hours.
Have been camped out at scheduling dept almost for last 2 months but still can't get hardly any flying .......always some other priority .....PC,s, line check, currency etc for other pilots, have tried everything.
What happens if the 150 days go by and the 100 hours no met?

Pretty sure you get a gold star on your horse blanket lapel for doing a great job bidding. What plane are you on and how can I get some of that?

You go back to the sim for a refresher. I think it's two sims but call and ask.

You get to fly with a LCA to get you over the 100. It happened to me on the DC 9.

Does anyone know if you have to consolidate if you go to the 76-5 if you flew the ER in the past?

The FAA would say 'no' since it is still a 'common type'. This also explains why the course is a shortened footprint if you are transitioning directly from one to the other; it's considered "Differences training".

so no one really knows the answer! I asked 5 different check airman and got 5 different answers.

1 you have to start the type again from the beginning

2. you have to go to sim for 4 hour refresher session and then a PC
making 2 sim sessions then start the 100 hours again

3. you have to do recurrent ....whatever that involves

4. F+@k knows never heard of that

5. Notify FAA and do whatever they say you have to do!

number 5 of course means ask 5 people and get 5 different answers

6 month anniversary with company yesterday

only 7 days to go to complete 100 hours and still need 38 hours, so if only allowed to fly 30 in 7 days ...... wot next........soooo tired of being on reserve, only time I get to fly is when I have a fixed day off!!!!

Tis a mystery

The FOM doesn't mention consolidation (doesn't show up in a search), but here's what the FARs say about missing the 100 hour requirement in 120 days:

FAR 121.434
(h)(4) If the required 100 hours of line operating flight time are not completed within 120 days, the certificate holder may extend the 120-day period to no more than 150 days if—
(i) The pilot continues to meet all other applicable requirements of subpart O of this part; and
(ii) On or before the 120th day the pilot satisfactorily completes refresher training conducted by an appropriately qualified instructor or check pilot as provided in the certificate holder's approved training program, or a check pilot determines that the pilot has retained an adequate level of proficiency after observing that pilot in a supervised line operating flight.
Not sure what happens if you exceed 150 days...

I suggest you call someone in ATL in the Flight Trng. department and ask them directly what they'll schedule you for when your time has expired. Why are you asking everyone else you can think of, and not going directly to the source?

Look on page 44 of the New hire guide. It outlines the process and recommends calling your chief pilot office to buy some consolidation trips. Also talk to your mentor.
