Look Guys - The long awaited movement is finally upon us. It is starting to accelerate. Lets save us from ourselves and not screw it up by enabling the flight Hos among us to fly to FAR limits every month, or at least lets not make it any easier to do so than it already is.

Think long and hard about every item that lowers the need for Pilots - Who knows what productivity concession will be the one delaying your move into your next seat.

I completely understand, but I didn't think the survey was asking us if wanted to roll back OOBWS. I was restricting myself to discussing the plethora of concessions that the survey is putting on the table, including the introduction of OOBS.

I feel strongly that a base's flying belongs to the base, and is on loan to the pilot that rightfully bids it. If he doesn't fly it, for whatever reason, it belongs in open time. The company has already mechanisms, including OOBWS and DH for Reserves, to get around that, for a net negative staffing impact.

I think you and I strongly agree that we don't need to give them any more tools to reduce staffing.

I think the current overtime/green slip system favors pilots who bid reserve (This is because of 117.). I agree with your assessment, Denny.

1.5 over 80 would incentivize guys picking up more time (less people required) vs going to the GS trigger and GSing for 200%. The latter is far more credit for less flying (more money more time off).

IMHO OOBWS/OOBS, although good for some pilots, results in, once again, the pilots bending over to fix the poor planning/resourcing of assets by CR and Delta. Just like the "productivity" issues we hear of....most of those issues are not due to lack of pilot productivity but due to CR/CS, tech issues and the fleet mix we have.

I would say the same should apply for out of base reserve covering trips. I don't think that scheduling should be allowed to do that.

That doesn't necessarily say I think Ts idea of regional reserve coverage should un-cap reserve days in another base. I think for the once every 6 months I get bit by capped reserve days swap denial, it would really screw reserve guys and line holders QOL overall.
