Just to be clear, negotiations are about money and data. You guys argue on webboards and think that negotiations are some PR contest. They are not. There is not one media article that will affect the outcome in any way.

Bottom line; who cares what a stupid magazine says? If it doesn't affect your goals it doesn't affect anyone else's either. If you want to be taken seriously then act serious. This whole argument is fluff.
By this logic, Lee could go to all the media outlets and say we're overpaid and deserve paycuts without any effect on us. Do you agree that he could do that?

Typical attack from the far left. Boring.

Really poor attempt at redefinition to discredit. None of us characterize every one we disagree with this way. Not even close. It's only a handful here that are clearly driven to minimize pilot costs to Delta. You are one. Embrace who you are Oberon.

We've been doing nothing but supporting our arguments Oberon. Including posting the exact quotes and our interpretations thereof. You continually respond by saying you don't understand, and wish for someone to explain it to you...when it's already been done to death. We support, but you pretend not to understand. It's the only tactic left in your quest to defend what you've been told to defend.

We are absolutely up to our eyeballs in Ford and Harrison tactics here Oberon. You're behaving exactly as prescribed to ensure the minimization of pilot costs. If you don't like the characterization, stop the behavior.

You're only showing incapability of "hearing" it. You're method of argument now is to pretend nobody is being clear enough to you. Interesting tactic. Good luck with that.

Talked to a friend today, yes this guy actually exists, and he heard this rumor about the upcoming contract negotiations.

RA wants a quick deal again (no surprise there, wall street likes things wrapped up in little bows)
He expects about the same pay increases as in C2012
He wants to revamp the sick leave policy (apparently too many people are using the 100 hours now and would explain the questions in the survey)

Talk among yourselves

Yes I agree. There are no words that could make you want less. All the rest is webboard fluff.

Fair enough. Why do we have a union president at all, then?

I don't think it will be a big deal, but I tell you what - it will not help us no matter how you look at it. My opinion is that Lee got a little carried away.

Scoop
I assume you are referring to the article? He said basically nothing. I don't think it has any effect other than to provide ammunition for those who dislike Moak or ALPA in general.

No one has illustrated why they are upset with what Moak was actually quoted as saying. The author of the article says Moak was in town to tell Wall Street not to worry about the pilots. What's he supposed to say, "we're hoping we can bankrupt our companies"?

Who knows? Definitely sounds like a rumor

My input on sick leave was explicit: "It ain't broke. Don't fix it!"

Is your friend someone who knows something or is this speculation?

The negotiating environment is slanted significantly more in our favor this time. RA is a pretty smart guy; I don't see how he could look at the situation and think the same rate increases would get a quick deal.

When did the current sick system go into affect? Aside from the sick verification do people like the new system better? It seems like we are pretty well covered for any extended illness under the current system; could you get paid out when you retired under the old system?
